Where do you stop? What does it take for Giant (Dragons) to do what every other bike manufacturer would do and replace the frame?

How do I contact them? I've found an email address for the HR department in the US... I'd like to hear from Giant international if this sort of thing is common, and if it is sugges they do something to their factory quality controls to put and end to it. Giant SA is no longer interested in hearing this case.

Hi again. after a face to face discussion Giant it seems I have 3 options. 1) Have the frame sent to one of their people, have the front sanded down and resprayed, and a vinyl decal installed and clear coated. 2) Send it to one of my people have the front sanded down and resprayed, and a vinyl decal installed and clear coated. 3) Have some lose vinyl stickers made and paste them on the front, and then just live with it like that. \ Yes I am bummed, but Giant, is acting, giant and won't budge. Here goes a deep sigh followed by the sound of footsteps resulting from me moving on. I tried.

I've emaile Giant about it, and have arranged (before my correspondence was posted) to come and see what the bike looks like in its stripped down form. I'm unsure guys. I'm a reasonable man, I'm also an educated man. This all does seem wrong, hence me posting this thread.

I also had that concern, Giant makes a valid point, the tape gets tricky where you paste it over the edge of a decal, something I did on the headtube, in an attempt to protect my frame. Ok, so I can understand how it does possibly have an effect. But the FD area? As a question, what do manufacturers suggest we do to protect our frames? We do afterall spend some serious $$$ on them.

Hi Ghostface Can you please take a photo of where the Giant decal is coming off in the area where the FD is? I'd also just like a comparison, since there was never any tape in that area, what being covered by the FD and all. That does make me think that there is some ground for a warranty, especially since this area never had any tape on the frame. Thanks man!

Have you got me the R3000 for the silver front traingle. I'm not about to go all franken-bike here and start mixing an matching odd stuff.

I just had a really long chat with there warranty guy - as an aside - it does a customer SO MUCH good to just talk to the person. We aren't going to kill you or shout at you, we just want to talk about it. He says they can have the head tube resprayed for me, to include a vinyl decal, as opposed to a digital decal, and then clear coat it. This still leaves me with my current frame and they'll do it at their cost, but they won't cover it if I'm not happy. The suspension linkages I reckon will just have to wait. I cannot believe I'm about to say this but I might have to just forget it, and rip the clear coat off and have a GIA T frame. Thats where I guess it'll end.

jip. First they said they'd do a front triangle replacement under warranty, or respray. Now this is the offer.

So no frame replacement or even considering the re-spray? AND they want me to spend R600 for a a set of USED pivots. The silver frame in the pictue is the one they want me to ay R3000 for. What happens to my old frame then? Its also not even the complete frame, but only the front triangle. Jo guys, i'm sad about this. Really sad. It looks as if they are not going to do anything at all.

I'm going to see what I can manage. I've been itching to restore the bike for ages, well if making it an SS® can be considered restoring. The restoration itch is accompanied by a CRC order itch. Will see how it goes and keep you okes posted.

Ag the setup system is passed its replacement date thingy, the levers are broken, it looks all rusty etc but the pads look ok-ish. The brakes are crazy stiff, just ziltch power.
