  1. Yes it is a bit unfortunate. But this kind of stuff seems to find me in life. Oh well. Hopefully it is sorted now.
  2. Ok.... Dum dum duuuuuummmmm. A very helpful lady from MiWay, to my relief, contacted me and cleared up all the poo and nonsense regarding the admin fee. Strangely enough, it was my post on the Hub that alerted her to what was going on. Legend, but also scary in a sense. They read what I wrote here. OK, so it is supposed to be R10/month and NOT R65/month. It is some system error which was not rectified as from 1 Dec 2010, and the online quote thing was to blame. I thank Gretha for the clarification, and also for someone who knows whats going on speaking to me. When people don't know stuff goes wrong. So now I know. My premium will be reduced, and MiWay will keep two, happier, customers and this post will be edited to remove my previous frustations. Pity is had to come to that to get something done though! Thanks Gretha.
  3. Their admin is (deleted). (deleted). Just when I think there is closure, someone phones, apologises and (deleted) tells me EXACLTLY what is going on...
  4. Now I wish I was insured with cyclesure.
  5. Do they cover races? My household stuff is through Zurich, but they do not cover races and I ws with them until I realised Sabie is too big a risk to not have race insurance.
  6. It is shocking. Now they say they are going to make his R65/month as well. (deleted)
  7. I joined yesterday. @^^%#$%^&^
  8. They (deleted). And I'm insured with them.
  9. ok so it means they reject 6-8% of their claims. That is (deleted). "MiWay says they believe this is unfounded."
  10. Excuse my not understanding insurance speak... does this confirm that they (deleted)???
  11. @#$^&^%$#@!!!! (deleted)... How is it that a friend I work with pays R10 for an admin fee and I pay R65/month? The R65 is 20% of my monthly premium as opposed to 7% on his?!?!? And his insured value is more then mine? MiWay is (deleted) in getting back to me on this. As far as I'm concerned you guys (deleted)!
  12. Hectic, i've never really tought of it like that. I suppose that is why most tyres ar 2.1". Balance between grip/resistance and it kind of makes sense that the greater the surface area the more mud it'll gather. Obviously tread also plays a masive part. Shot!
  13. Ha! I had a renault clio 3 diesel. 60000km service = R5282. Standard cambelt replacement. Ave service cost R2000. That 1 service threw all my fancy sums out the window. I'd have been able to buy a brand new petrol polo and it'd have still been R10000 cheaper all in all, and I'd get more for it when I eventully sold it. I've since moved to a golf 5 and the services are WAY cheaper (golf = 2x value of clio). And they're covered under a maintenance plan. But Nooit. Nice cars are nice, but what is the point in paying so much for something that just wastes away. Yes they allow yo to get to work where you make money so you spend money to make money vibe but heck, I'm planning on keeping the golf till the end of next year and then I'm buying a cheaper but safe car. like a polo. But bmw/merc/fancy audi/fancy vw? mmmmm....
  14. Ja look its tight.
  15. Ja so I spoke to my local bike shop guy, and even though I do find the crossmarks pretty cool in the dry (after the initial pants pooing sessions) I do think they will not cope well in the wet and the mud, so I'm going to put the Advantage on 1) becuase I have them already, and 2) they have never let me down in the wet and 3) I'm NOT forking out R500/lust CM when I'm already selling my kidneys to afford a rental car for a week when in Sabie. DAMN!
  16. I've only really ever used the Maxxis Advantage with a high rolling resistance and the Crossmarks with lower resistance but still with some decent edge grip. I'm doing the Sabie Experience and it is VERY wet and muddy, and the Advantages do still have decent life left in them as a good grip pair to take with incase. Got a strong feeling the Crossmarks will end me on the slippery stuff, especially if the tyre behaves the same in the mud as it does on loose ground. i.e. very little centre linegrip but adequate grip while cornering. I nearly soiled myself going from the Advantage to the Crossmarks. Looking for a good replacements for the Crossmarks I suppose. Oh and UST with normal rim compatiblity. I still run tubes.
  17. Ok. I need to get new tyres. what is better for wetter weather: NobbyNic vs MountainKing vs Crossmarks vs Larsen. Crossmarks and Larsens are cheaper. Performance wise. Help.
  18. Hahahahahahahaha. Spacemuis has already bought the TREK. Hahahaha I've even been riding with him hahahahahahaha sorry boet.
  19. Trance fo sho!
  20. Benzene works fine, if you want to get CANCER. Seriously if you use it please at least use gloves...
  21. And then this is my new bike, which is currently serving me WELL! It needs a wash though!!
  22. Here is my old bike... It served me WELL!
  23. New cassette = new chain. Replace the chain when it is worn, and the cassette will happily last 4-5 chains. Do not, and suffer my fate of having the worn chain wreck the casette with only 800km.
  24. anyone??
  25. bump
