  1. I am indeed💪🏻 hope the wind isn’t as rough as last week🙈 but see you there in the morning🤘🏻
  2. Bring on the blood and sweat😂 just take it easy on me going through the tech stuff when I am on the HT😜 I think you should close your eyes and swipe your card🤣
  3. This is very nice, very underrated bike. The question is does it make you faster?😜😂
  4. This Cervelo will be perfect for you @TheoG just a bit more yellow than your Rocky currently has😜 You are absolutely right that it is going to be 💩 expensive😂
  5. The Blur is a good bike to base your bike off of. Not a fan of the design, but a nice bike to ride on. I must agree that the Dogma is better looking, but not great that it only has clearance for up to 2.35" tires, considering how many guys are now going 2.4" and with wider inner diameter rims the tires are measuring even wider. I am a big fan of Giant, always felt great from the first ride on them, currently have an Anthem and an XTC in the garage, and love them. Interested to have a look at that new Signal coming out, think it will be another brand shaking up the market a bit, now that a lot of people are looking for better value.
  6. Looks like 66.7° for the 120mm and 67.8° for the 100mm which is much better than their hardtail.
  7. There is also a local company called NB Mounts, they also do mounts for number boards, I will admit that it is not as clean as this but a viable option for those that race often.
  8. I had Sram SX on a bike that my boss bought for me, worked okay, I wouldn't say that it is terrible but found that it lost its adjustment more than I would have liked, and needed some help finding some gears. They also use more plastic in it, hence it being cheaper, and in terms of high mileage I only got about 800km out of it before it grew legs, so cannot tell you how well it holds up after that. I would rather look at Deore, there are a lot more positive reviews on it.
  9. Beautiful wheels but wow that price, makes my knees wobble.
  10. Losing to older kids racing in my age category was one of the interests in losing interest, the second was the injuries from pushing and working so hard to try to beat them.
  11. Speaking of age doping, I lost out because of this, while I was at school doing athletics. The coaches would just let anyone run in an age group because they were in the grade of what that age group was but yet they were always two to three years older. You let them know about it but nothing was done, so you would waste your time training just to narrowly be beaten by someone that comes into the trials and lose out on a spot that you worked so hard for.
  12. This was interesting after reading through this thread.
  13. Seems like your words were a bit foggy. I do the same thing and hate having my glasses fog up, I am already as blind as a bat as it is.
  14. I never had an issue with my glasses misting up, but had to take them off because of the water buildup on the lenses. Was crazy going from a beautiful sunny morning to riding in complete fog and then bright sunny skies again.
  15. I use Recon Race tyres on my dual sus that I ride at Thaba and have no issues with them there, like the guys have said the tech sections are rocky but I find everything else quite hard packed so don't go too aggressive.
  16. No need to hide it, you could just get one of these, they will be non the wiser. https://www.takealot.com/lezyne-matrix-air-cage/PLID92540855?gclid=CjwKCAjw586hBhBrEiwAQYEnHV8af4lnljfmDKEZ3WI54hu9JrzyTrlqIIeJk3ybu7UGQZ_uSNko3xoCYP0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  17. Morning Gents, so I have been wanting to get into running as a means of doing a bit of cross training and getting a good workout in when I have some time constraints and cannot be on the IDT or go out for a ride. What would you guys suggest would be the way forward in getting started? I haven't done any sort of proper structured running in the last 14 years or so since my athletics days in school. Idealy I would like to run 1-2 times a week and do 5K runs when I do it, and possibly get that up to doing a 10K when possible.
  18. Sure it is not a good look but puts things into perspective, that is the way I am looking at it, the mens field make things look easy especially with the depth of the field, and they literally just smash through sections at such an unbelievable pace, which adds a whole other perspective to it. I agree with you that due to history the women's field and women's sport as a whole is behind, will it catch up? I doubt it, but I think it has the potential to be much bigger than what it is, and the crowds should be happy to see even more cycling, their beer drinking can wait another 30 mins.
  19. This seems like the new crime trend with cyclists, same sort of thing happened to a rider about two weeks back, then a few days later the same sort of thing happened in another area, the one common denominator was a grey/silver Toyota Corolla. So I think these guys just move around and watch what cyclists are doing and then know exactly which points are the best to attack.
  20. Really is sad for women cycling, I know there is a lot of work happening in the background to grow and improve womens cycling. I really enjoy watching women cycling, and do not know why there is less interest watching the women race compared to the men? I mean we all know the men are faster and stronger, but the women are racing up the same climbs and sections as the men albeit slower, seeing how they struggled up some of those cobbles just added to the spectical and showed us just how difficult those sections actually are to ride.
  21. I use a sportswear wash from a brand called So Pure, you get it at Dischem, I think its about R100 and you get 25 washes out of it. Cycling kit is washed seperately on a handwash cycle in the machine and kit is left to dry undercover out of direct sunlight. Current kit is still looking as good as the day I bought it.
  22. The best thing is to make sure you are able to do the mileage on your training rides, test out your nutrition beforehand and have that worked out, and keep yourself hydrated. Also ensure that you ride within your limits, do not get caught up with others pace that you are not able to sustain. The last thing you want is to pop and still have a lot of riding left to do.
  23. If I am not mistaken, he is still eligible for this year and next year? He will still be 25 for next years TdF.
  24. Not using GCN+ as yet, but going to get it soon. Last year I would always hear them saying on their preview shows that places were geo-blocked but I now hear them saying that just about everyone can watch, but I think sorting yourself out with a VPN would be benificial if you go the GCN+ route.
  25. Aspens or otherwise some mud tyres for unforeseen inclement weather.
