  1. I think she is one of the blond orange clad Bavaria girls who now runs their own marketing company. You can see the SILVER lining lying on your BACK. Nice bike though
  2. I also carry a tube but end up donating it to stranded rider on races
  3. I moved to Indwe for pass five years. Moved from Outsurance because of getting a better premium and they had issues with covering my bike. I got the same cover and my bike insured for less than Outsurance policy. I also started feeling uneasy about not having a broker. I think Outsurance makes us believe that by cutting out the broker we are not paying commission, on the contrary we are paying them the commission. I think the service you get from Indwe is impeccable. Chantall and Corne went out of their way for me in the past year.
  4. I think the distributors are a big problem in the way they attempt to regulate retail prices. If anyone tries to sell for less they clampdown on them. By keeping retail prices high they are able to keep their wholesale margins big. just look and see what Obike is charging now for that matter raleigh/ giant all have significant specials on their bikes.
There is a big difference with buying things that are PRODUCED LOCALLY but then buying the same outside the country. The distributor also imports the goods from the buiteland. So why cant we do so also at good prices?
  6. any one got experience with this bike?
  7. I am thinking of getting a spark 40. wondering if anyone has experience with the frame. What do you think of the dt m210 rear shock? How does it compare to a fox shock.
  8. Was your bike insured?
  9. You do get Sram Attack Twisters which should work with shimano(1:2).
  10. yes the error is consistent. My point is that if you are training using power readings on the flow then you may have to adjust the power levels so you can train in the correct training zones. orbeaorca2010-03-23 06:09:26
  11. that does sound like a good idea. which one did you get? I wanted to give him my mtb which is a size small orbea and get a other bike. You think that will be to big?
  12. I am looking to get my 11 year old an mtb. He is about 149 and has inseam of 72. I need help with the 1. what size do I get him? 2. what would be suitable bike? not spending more R6000-R9000 thanks
  13. I have an older flow. maybe i am doing something wrong but even though i calibrate it i still find that there is at least a 20% diffrence in the power reading between it and the powertap. I ride with my powertap on the flow sometimes and the flow overreads the power output. The flow says i am Jens and the powertap says i am me
  14. Had a stunning 1st ride with my son on tandem. We did a 505. You had to see the delight on his face at the finish. More so than at the Bar one stop where I had to drag him away. It was a tough ride though, as he is a slave driver and the upwards pointing saddle accounted for the burning groin pain. My best Argus to date Well done to all.
  15. I tink you should get a foldable tire rather than a wire bead on. the gatorskins with wire bead are difficult to fit but puncture proof. I bought me a set of the foldable ones for my tandem and they roll well.

    Jagwire

I got them on my road and mtb with no issues
  17. At least they have changed the route and the climbs are earlier so there will be less ques at the singletrack
  18. Looks like it is going to be another scorcher of a day like last year. Gonna need loads sunblock and fluids. Lots of okes will be lying in the vineyards again Sunhttp://weather.news24.com/Images/Icons/Forecasts/1.gifSunny. Hot. 35?C23?C24km/h SE75%41?CHigh 30%weather for Paarl from weather24
  19. I think they should be consistent and offer discount for doing any combo of the longer events. I honestly think more people do the 50km mtb& 100km road than the 85km mtb&100km road.
  20. I wanted to enter the Knysna 50km mtb(R170) and 100km(R180) road like last year which comes to R350 + R35(admin fee- for what?) =R385. The 85km mtb and 100km road = R270+27= R297( giving R100 discount for combo) The 5okm mtb and 50km road= R220+ 20= R220(giving R50 dicount combo) Now i am really feeling ripped off? I emailed them here is their response: Hi Feizal,<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Unfortunately the discounts are only as on the entry form, if you do the 50km and the 46km or the 85km and the 100km. I realise this seems rather illogical but this is the way it has been decided to allot discounts. very sorry for the inconvenience. Perhaps you could try the 85km MTB.. 21. I really like the look of the keo max 2 and was keen to get a pair. After reading the link Mr Look posted on another thread, I am starting to have my doubts. These Dura ace pedals must be very good if lance had persisted using them all these years. Why would a legendary weight weenie like lance use pedals which have always been heavier than the competitors, if they did not have amazing performance. I think he just wants to be able to jump on a teammates bike so he does not end up being stranded like Cadel was with a flat on the mountain in the tour. I will probably just get me the sh*tmano pedals since dont have a team of biomechanics to asssist me with the transistion. CWCCYCLES have the duraace pedals 7810 for sale at R1550 which is on par with CRC and way cheaper than other shops. And I can go get them tommorrow http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/02/bikes-tech/tech-brief-look-at-lances-new-pedals_103764 orbeaorca2010-02-09 16:45:04
  22. I finally got to pay for my entry yesterday via the www.mtbchallenge.co.za site. I wonder if this is causing issues for the organisers of the 99er in terms of processing entries for seeding etc.
  23. I cant decide which one i must get. Help please. I currently have dura ace 7800 pedals orbeaorca2010-02-09 06:16:03
  24. THANX David, being from the cape why enter early when you can do it on the last minute. I managed to enter but the system wont allow me to to pay for the entry. I go to the payment window and enter all the details after submitting them, it says payment failed. Does this component automatically not accept payments after the 5th?
  25. I was trying to enter the mtbchallenge since last night but it seems the sites are down. Is it just me?
