  2. Did you do the 75km? We were in charge of chp3 at 50km on top of the tar road climb.

  4. Fitting the BB and assembling the crank
  5. This is me unprofessionally cutting the steerer just to fit it so that I can have an idea how it looks.
  6. Yeah me too. Lots of maintenance I had to go through this year with the Baviaans Join me Saturday for a SS ride? Mostly going to ride single track
  7. Thanks! I practically finished with the build. At the moment she is at Cycleworld to fit the XT brakes that I received yesterday, and to cut the steerer tube to the correct length. She will be on the trails tonight. Can't wait.
  8. If its XCO, different story, but as for Half and Full Marathons, of course If I win the 75km in the Elites and my mate that's also a Elite rides the 20km and wins that, surely my win must get more recognition? As for the younger riders that can not ride the long distances, they do get recognized, they get selected for provincials and nationals based on their results.
  9. Well then it's not me I will post info if I get something, There is a group that rides 5:00 every morning but its mostly road
  10. You can add Christo Roos to that list - 076 551 2783 Grouprides I don't know of any thats going tomorrow. How late and how far is he planning on riding?
  11. I had a Loaded Al bar on my SS and changed to a Carbon bar, I could immediately feel the difference. And it wasn't even a high end carbon bar. Bought it from Carbon Concepts. So yes, it will definitely make a difference
  12. For the fork I specifically wanted a rigid carbon fork that had a tapered steerer and with a 15mm thru axle. This is the part I waited the longest for. But man its pretty! Will post more pics later
  13. The Handlebars, saddle, narrow wide chainring, and rear sprockets I got from Rapide. Thanks Wayne! Very good looking products and brilliant service
  14. I used an old set taken of my Dale. The decals was in bad shape and the colour had faded. Had some new custom ones made for me by a hubber named tyerone
  15. On Friday I received most of my parts, except for my brakes. Meet "Die Groen Mamba!" This is the very green Steel frame

  23. O and well done for everyone on finishing To that guy and girl finishing just before 10am, hats of to you guys!!!! And I want to retract my statement that the Baviaans is made for a Hardtail. Ekt die jaar letterlik my gat gesien
  24. Out of my 4 Baviaanse, this was the one that tested me the most. Hit the wall just after checkpoint 1 Nearly died trying to get to checkpoint 2. Had no idea what was wrong as I was not that unfit for something like this to happen. My team mates cruised to checkpoint 2 and I had to do a 60km ride of hell!! I made it to checkpoint 2 and started to eat and drink everything I could find. Next stop Checkpoint 3. Luckily the fuel in my legs was back and I could chat and smile again! But the damage was done, my ITB injury from a 2 years back started creeping in slowly but surely. I suffered up Baviaans Back, Fangs and MAC with every pedal turn feeling like someone was driving a knife trough the side of my right knee. Strong pain pills and muscle relaxers made it bearable to go forward and focusing on finishing. On the downhill after Bergplaas I picked up a sidewall cut and nearly lost is on a dangerous turn. Managed to plug the cut but it kept on loosing pressure and had inflate it at all the checkpoint. But with all the bad luck and great team mates, we made it in 13:46 and was happy to finish!
  25. Good luck with the rehabilitation. And trust me, as I know you feel the same, A dog is a lot more worth than any wheels. This is where I feel a fund or something should be created. Kind of like we did with Millwaukee from Tumbleweed. Everybody contributing financially to a good cause when a hubbers pet is in need.
