  1. I had fantastic results with smooth lube on my chain at the burger yesterday. Shifting was crisp & quick with no chainsuck.
  2. I can sort of 'understand' the 50,30 & 15km channeling together, but letting the 60 & 70km join them just after going underneath the highway with the scaffolding over the river in just stupid !! Also why no Portable atm at the finish, this is the biggest one day race in SA!? Really wanted a coffee after the ride.. Besides that It was tough and fun (60km)... Sure there were a lot of wipe outs!
  3. My Garmin 510 broke... my lbs sorted it out with Garmin & I got a brand new unit within a week. I had to pay R180 courier though.
  4. 1930m according to the website
  5. I see the route for the 75km & 60km has changed.. "The route is identical up until just after the famous Uitkyk Bushtunnel at 26km. After the Bushtunnel the route is completely redesigned to take in the new features of the Knorhoek Valley trail system. A new trail (never been ridden) will take riders to meet up with the Uitkyk view trail before connecting to the Ho Chi Minh trail on Muratie via Jakhalskloof. We only do the upper Ho Chi Minh and then traverse to Delheim via the Silvertree trail. After the Delheim waterpoint riders take the Dozer trail to Muratie, cutting out the nasty little hill after the waterpoint. The climb up Muratie is the same as last year except for the well settled Elevator trail meaning more contouring singletrack climbs instead of the steep jeep track of last year. The next change occurs at 53km where the route changes to incorporate Simonsig Estate as well as the new Nooitgedacht Village development. This is also a new waterpoint location. On Simonsig riders will ride straight through the winery while at Nooitgedacht we have added new singletrack. A major diversion occurs at Nooitgedacht as the riders now head towards L’Avenir Estate after which they will join the 42km at Strydom Vineyards. We are also moving the final Waterpoint location from the Welgevonden entrance road to Weltevreden Estate, a stunning new location for the event. These changes are very exciting for us as we are including 4 new properties into the route as well as new singletrack trails"
  6. Hi Gerald, sorry about your loss. Seeing that you are on Super Sport and I am sure you know a lot of the Carte Blanch crew. Cant you maybe "help" start the process of Derrick and the team investigating the root of the problem / interviewing the Head of the Stellenbosch police so that they can pull their finger out of their ass! Just a thought. Really hope you find your bike. Cheers Edit: not just talking about house burglaries but specifically bike related attacks around Stellenbosch.
  7. 75km = invitation only 60km = hard race, lots of climbing 42km = hard race, lots of climbing 50km = a new flat option for newbies/less fit
  8. Yip, & don't forget the Pike upfront !
  9. Yes slightly cheaper... but with it being a 2015 model the prices will go up. If the Evo was available beginning of the year I would have bought it! Oh well, still very happy with mine!
  10. Johny, I think the price will be a bit more(?)... prob in the R70k region. Who is your lbs ?
  11. Time to get some bear spray!!
  12. Definitely.. big groups will be fine.
  13. Yip, and the Scalpel ultimate black is R120 000 (2014 model so next year probably R150k )....
  14. I 'fixed' your post above. The sworks frame uses better carbon than the standard comp carbon frame. Will be lighter & stiffer = better performing.
  15. What's the issue? It works brilliantly...
  16. The fun factor/Joy you get from Mtbing ... priceless
  17. The best they have been in a looooong time! Thank you Specialized & Ace of Spades!!
  18. Ek persoonlik dink Jonkershoek is een van die veiligste (misdaad) plekke om te ry. Oak Valley is ook bo aan die lys. Hier is n go pro video van Oak Valley toe ek laas daar was as jy nie die trails ken nie! 90% singletrack  . (verander die kwaliteit na 720p hd onder settings)
  19. Huh? Verduidelik asb?
  20. I guess, cant really see them bringing out an sworks epic with no brain suspension.
  21. R23k.... maybe its a better quality carbon? and the Brain suspension I suppose..
  22. Random.. go swop it for a new one.
  23. Just buy the cheapest epic with brain front and back then? Better groupset/ wheels obviously doesnt matter to you.
  24. Hi Johny, yes I am loving it! Specialized does make brilliant machines, I guess that is why people love to hate the brand.
  25. Yes because a better groupset, brakes, carbon crank, carbon wheels and a dropper seat post does NOT make a differance at all..
