  1. I'm with you on this. I keep all my wrappers. BUT my banana peels I deposit to the earth on the side. What is your take on this?
  2. I don't ride a MTB and I don't have a dog, but if I did, this would have been my dog's destiny. Saw it on Prolly is not Probably: Link http://vimeo.com/31463317
  3. I now have a student who's going to travel with me. Any cyclist?
  4. And then I'll put my bike on my back? Just one problem, where am I going to put my bags...
  5. Can anyone help?
  6. So who's going to do the Lowveld tour this year? I cant wait! I'm looking for a lift, or I can help with a lift from the Gauteng area to Graskop. I don't want to drive the whole way on my own cost, but will gladly share cost with someone. Please let me know if you can help, or if I can help.
  7. Awesomeness!!! ASG thanks for the t-shirt!

  10. Try this guy in Bloem, got his contacts from thehub, to lazy to search now. I am sure he'll be able to help you. Even if it is only to give you bad news. philip{at}inizio.co.za okey...here you are... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/94352-all-and-any-carbon-fibre-repairs/
  11. I almost always train alone, so any chance I get to practice "bunch" riding, I take. I think the guy should have maybe asked you, or at least made his presence known, because you ride different (read safer) when you know someone's behind you. Just my 2c.
  12. Thanks everyone for the input, Hawk, you have only confused me. Now I have more options to decide from, it's going to be tough!

  14. Youth Hostels sounds like a better idea. I'm not going to cycle the whole way, just want to do something memorable, like climbing Mont Ventoux. But then how's the best way to get from say Marseilles to Bedoin? Public transport in France? I believe I will be able to hire a bike @ Bedoin, because cycling Mont Ventoux is a tourist attraction. Please keep on giving your inputs. Much appreciated.
  15. Sorry for reposting here, but with the new layouts I think I'll get more eyes here. How many of you have been to France? I'm going alone for a week from the 20th of August, after a week I'm going to Spain where I'll meet up with my fiancée and her family. What I want to do, is go to Mont Ventoux, and cycle this epic climb. But maybe some of you have better suggestions? Where should I go and what should I do? I'm a bit of cycling junkie at this stage, so want to plan a trip around a great cycling venture in France. (Note that I am not bound to France, and other countries can also be considered. But hey, it's France!) I'm on a tight budget, so I will probably be camping, is this advisable? Another question: Should I hire the bike, or rather take my bike with. Do any of you have any contacts in France? Maybe someone I can visit, or borrow a road bike from and so forth. Please help me with any ideas and suggestions. Thanks

  17. I'm on the dog's side. No mention of the injuries he sustained from the 2 cyclist trying to maul him over. This same story could have a completely different look and feel when told/written by someone else. How much money would they claim if it was a township dog? Will it still be worth R50000 of damages? How many people has R50000 to pay towards a claim? If they claim R50000 from someone who don't even earn it in a year, can he sue the cyclists for attempted murder when he won't have any food on the table? I do think that if I were in the cyclist shoes, I would also want to claim damages somewhere. But like the header states, why would hitting them with a car have been a cheaper claim? In all fairness, sometimes the "judicial system" comes up with some very unfair rulings.
  18. Lol. April Fool Look at the third pic. Link
  19. I had the same problem with my look keo carbon's. This was caused by the plastic cleat rubbing against the pedal surface. The solution: Baby powder. Rub some baby powder on the contact surface on the cleat and on the pedal. http://ezinearticles.com/?Squeaking-LOOK-Keo-Pedals&id=2730408 Don't know if it will work for eggbeaters. Worked wonders for me.
  20. I love the hub because it's everything cycling related (and non-cycling related). Everyone here has a shared passion for cycling and bicycles. And it's juts plain awesome!
  21. Just spammed all my friends, usually I'm annoyed by this type of marketing, but hey lets get some hiking shoes.
  22. I'm in G , but would definitely help towards a sub3!!!
  23. This weekend at the fast one, there was this one guy in my group with deep section carbon wheels. I thought his wheels was going to snap at any moment!!! If theres a little lateral force, the wheels starts to creak. When he climbed out of the saddle I thought this is it... It sounded like the rims were hitting the break blocks. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and my bicycle is silent as far as possible. A creak like that would drive me crazy. I didn't give attention to the sound of carbon wheels until this Sunday, and i would like to know:are all carbon wheels like this? Was it only this guy's wheels? I am envious of carbon wheels, but after hearing this noise I'll think twice... Maybe it's just my jealousy and as soon as I have a pair of my own I'll praise the sheer brilliance of this engineering marvel. Your thoughts?
  24. Has been done, thanks for the advise. Hopefully it's fixed now. Can't wait, almost going on holiday!
