What I heard the route is going via Malanshoogte and then up Vissershok Van Schoorsdrift and the section of the N7 is no longer part of the route.

My overtaking is like these 16wheelers overtaking each other on a hill...it takes like foreva to get past...with an expected headwind it may even take longer

You don't warm-up for Hells, you just hit it as hard as you can...and hope you recover going down on the other side

@Tugboat: Being a fat arse I got dropped by the leading group of D on the climb up Hells last year...was about 20 bike lengths behind them...chased my arse off for the next 6km at close to 60kph to catch them at Boschendal...finished 3 or 4th in the group eventually...so if you get dropped, you can still get back, but it takes a lot out of your legs If the South Easter is blowing, watch-out for the guttering on the uphill drag from Wellington near the Windmeul Cellar...you don't won't to get dropped there...its still a long way home if you're on your own

I did 2h37 last year from D...think I was 3rd or 4th in the group...was super fast

Geesh mate, hope you are insured! You (and your uncle with the big gun and plane) should go riding around the Bloekombos and Wallacedene areas I will keep a lookout as I cycle around that are regularly.
