Same guys that did the photo shoot for the bike on Signal Hill. When I spoke to them regarding the bike I basiclly got that go away look from them.

The Epic is not an event you just enter. The few that have done so and thought it was going to be a walk in the park should read these comments and post their experiences. Time in the saddle will be your biggest ally and the willingness to put yourself in the hurtbox day after day. No matter whether you racing for podium middle of the pack or just want to finish the event. And yes you will have those spells where you feel that this is not for you. If you are mentally prepared as well as you are physically prepared you might stand a change of reaching that final finish line at Lourensford. For those doing the Epic for the first time I have some advice------------- train train train and train. The Epic is not a given. The Epic is earned.

After reading all 6 pages I have come to the conclusion that a tire is a tire is a tire. They are round hold air and allow me to ride my bike. As they say------Different strokes for different folks. Just ride the bike and enjoy it. Next time we can work on world peace.

Training is not a problem. Doing that and a lot of it as well. Was really just thinking of do's and dont's

Giant XTC Composite. Specialized = Golf. Everyone has one. Momsen = Good Choice Scott = Neutral on these bikes. Pyga = Just don't know. Niner = Drool worthy The comments above is my personal feeling and does not reflect negatively on any of the Brands.

Any veterans of this event that can give a few pointers as to having a successful event.

There in lie the problem. The fast riders do not like riding with the slow riders as it messes with their training and ego's. Hence the two groups.
