  1. Neither. Picking myself up. I've hired a car.
  2. 17:30. I've organised perfect weather for this weekend.
  3. Don't try keep up with the laaitjies. They might be fast but your endurance is probably better. (Or at least that's what I keep telling myself...) Can't wait to see your new steed in person.
  4. Yippee! Well done! Holy will probably tell you that you weren't riding hard enough.
  5. YAY! Very happy for you. How many lie-downs did you have?
  6. Thanks DT. Definitely drool-worthy. PS: Tell Spud's wife to do a better job of cleaning your steed next time.
  7. Almost forgot. Congrats on your 2000th post. Glad to see you did it in style!
  8. I also protested about the bottle cage but DT has a very valid reason for keeping it. It is to house his light's battery as he often trains at night. Hope you have many happy crash-free miles DT.
  9. Also saw that' date=' no wonder everyone just assumes I'm a guy. Must change my avatar to something pink. [/quote'] Same here! I tried the pink avatar thing and was still called "dude" by a Hubber.
  10. Didn't realise there were so few female Hubbers.
  11. Captain Slow, what is the cost per sign?
  12. Go for it Piernas! http://www.cyclelicio.us/2009/10/male-cyclists-more-attractive-than.html "In a survey by the Cycle Show of women attending the Show, the fairer sex found fans of cycling the most attractive from a list of typically male sporting pursuits. Cycling came out as the top choice of hobby for prospective partners with 36% of respondents voting in its favour; beating the number one male hobbies of football (17%) and rugby (14%).

The women questioned revealed that not only are they more happy for prospective partners to spend time cycling when not spending time with them, but also that they are equally positive about the idea of cycling as a romantic experience. 44% of those questioned chose a bike ride as their top first date activity. Football fans faired less well, with only 17% of respondents choosing a trip to the football as their ideal first date.

Cyclists were also frequently described as ?kind', ?considerate' and ?intelligent' whereas the majority of women questioned felt that football fans were typically ?aggressive', ?selfish' and ?proud.'

  13. Groenies has a couple of nice climbs but none of them are exceptionally long. Onion hill needs special mention as it is fairly steep (6% gradient I think) and carries on for over 1km if I remember correctly. There is such a wide route choice and you can do a whole ride without hitting singletrack if you so wish. Look at the map and you'll get an idea of where the jeep track and singletrack is situated.
  14. You taking this training thing far too seriaaaasly !! Didn't say I was going there for training Thuggie
  15. Missed it Are they going to show it again?
  16. Really! Business or pleasure? Pleasure all the way...well interspersed with a bit of pain too on the uphills
  17. Secret training sessions. Hope the wind is kind to me.
  18. Yes, you need a light. You're welcome to use my lights if you are prepared to fetch them from me. You can then see what lights the others use and decide which light/s you want to buy for future D 'n Ds.
  19. Inside the parking area.
  20. I think this is the incident you are speaking about (taken from the CycleLab newsletter sent out on Monday): "LATEST WARNING - Sunday 4 October 2009 This morning at about 8h00 six of us where riding our mountain bikes past the lion cages at the Lion Park when we were held up at gun point by three well organized individuals. They stole bikes, cycling shoes, cell phones, money, camel packs etc. They throw three bikes over the fence into the Lion Park, removed everyone?s cycling shoes and made-off with the three most expensive bikes. Clearly they have done this before and are not concerned about the size of the group. Regards Rob Zuccollo "
