  2. All I can see on SAPA is "DEBATE ON THE PRESIDENCY BUDGET VOTE" Where's Holy Roller? He's probably got access to read what it's all about.
  3. Happy Birthday Ronelle. Sounds like you've had an excellent birthday so far. Enjoy the rest of it.
  4. Mine is gun metal colour and components are X-O and XTR.
  5. I have been cycling for many years and changed to a WSD two years ago as I couldn't find a bike size that fitted me correctly. A men's small was at least 10 cm too long for me. Best change I ever made. There is definitely a market for WSD and it is not merely hype.
  6. one way is to google one (make sure it isn't copyright protected). copy the link' date=' paste that into the avatar jobbie on your profile, and, god-willing, it'll appear?[/quote'] Is there any size limit on avatars loaded via links? Just curious as two of the avatars in question are above 130KB.
  7. ja but according to a lot of people tney dont pay out..so what the hell does it help having a higher premium? I was referring to cycle insurance in general and not just Pedal Care and Cyclesure. I was contacted recently by a company offering me cycle specific insurance but I can't remember the name and it wasn't Pedal Care or Cyclesure.
  8. It doesn't help specifying only the insured value and premium. How much is the excess? My bike is insured for 51K with Pedal Care and I pay R255 with an excess of 10% plus claim minimum of R500. I recall the Cyclesure excess being less than this but the premium is higher.
  9. I am a Cyclelab club member and don't mind admitting it. If I recall correctly from club newsletters received in the past, they had bike boxes made up for the Argus transportation and it is probably one of these that they offered you. The basic bike box that all bikes come in cannot be compared to those used by special transportation companies and I suspect the one they offered you was more reinforced than normal. The box used when my bike was transported to the Argus was wide enough to wrap a thick blanket around the bike, was much sturdier, and could withstand some rough treatment. It was also big enough to fit my bike in without having to disassemble it.
  10. I also rode at Groenkloof this weekend. I asked the staff at the entrance gate and the hut about the new route. A guy at the hut said that he had asked his boss about it and his boss told him that it was not yet open and had only been used for races so far. I got a map from them but it did not show where the new route is. I can't understand why there was an article in the newspaper if it isn't yet open!
  11. If you use Internet Explorer 7: Check your settings under Tools/Internet Options/Browsing History "Settings" button.
  12. The road and offroad versions look the same apart from the peak. http://www.met-helmets.com/home.jsp?idrub=5753
  13. I have done two of their rides. The first year was mainly tar and last year was mainly dirt. They aren't putting on a ride at the end of this year. From an email I was sent by the organiser (He's an Aussie so excuse his spelling of the locations): "...the MPum ride will be the only ride for this year in SA and the route and dates for the next GwcBR is a tightly held secret requiring special security clearances. However, I can reveal that I recently went on a pedal along the south coast and found a way through Stillbaia, Witsand, Anniston Hermanas, Gans Baia and more. "Mandibles2008-04-07 23:25:20
  14. Non-finishers names are only listed after the completion of the following day's stage i.e. the ones you see on the list got DNF's in stage 2 and were only displayed after the finish of stage 3.
  15. I have Assos, Cape Storm matrix, and Anatomic bib shorts. All these bib shorts feel comfy to me up to about 3 or 4 hours and then only can I feel the difference. In order of comfort I would place the Assos 1st, then Anatomic and lastly the Cape Storm bibs. I agree with Sean that each cyclist finds comfort in different brands.
  16. The last two links have https://www.bikehub.co.za/%20%20 in front of them. If you remove this part then they work fine.
  17. I agree! Best race that I've ever done by far. I'm still suffering from withdrawal symptoms!
  18. Nope, no sense of humour in the bag. Bet I was to blame for you losing it though....sorry!
  19. Well if no one claims them then you can have the finisher's medal as a consolation prize and you can be my friend.
  20. I also have a finisher's medal in the lost property.
  21. Hey Mud Dee, don't remember seeing you on the start line of any of the days therefore I suspect they don't belong to you. Nice try though.
  22. I have 3 pairs of sunglasses and a very old heartrate monitor that were handed in as lost property. If you or your teammate lost any of the above and can describe it to me in detail you can claim it.
  23. On one occasion I flew down to Pietermaritzburg with SA Airlink (29 seater aircraft) and they accidentally sent the entire aircraft's baggage off to Pietersburg. Only got our stuff the next day.
