  1. Trans Baviaans is a woosie 230km mtb race. They give you 24 hrs to complete it! Spud has done it twice and he's 54 so it can't be that hard
  2. What average speed and where do you intend riding?
  3. This is at the top of the questionnaire: "To help us provide the best service possible, we need to know more about you and your opinions of Trail Blazers and our service" What is Trail Blazers?
  4. Me neither...unless I recover quickly from this flu/cold.
  5. I have been riding at NF for many years. Not once have I seen a map of the routes. If you start following a route you have no idea what distance you are going to end up doing etc. I ride on my own most of the time and I try avoid the more dangerous sections when the Farm is quiet. If I remember correctly, you can BUY a map at the ticket office but I feel that this should be GIVEN out each time you buy a ticket as the routes are constantly being added to. Another option is to have a big sign board at the start showing the various routes. I am a signed up member of the Northern Farm forum and I am going to raise this issue with the mtb representative.
  6. Holding thumbs chucky. Your Namibia trip sounds super cool. Hope you will post some pics when you get back. Enjoy!
  7. DT is hardcore. He refused to get a DNF and went on to finish!
  8. Nicely done tarboy
  9. Take it back to the bike shop. Explain to them how to simulate the problem and ask them to fix it. They should have sorted it properly during the service therefore you shouldn't pay to have it fixed.
  10. What date would suit you all the best? Can't be 11 October as it is Crater Cruise.
  11. Provisional date is 4 October but we are negotiable...or at least I am. Must be a Sunday so that Holy can be there. Which Sani are you doing?
  12. Bump. Who is keen?
  13. BA is going to start charging extra for bicycles as from 9 October or thereabouts.
  14. SAA is free on "1000; 7000; 8000 series" flights. Below is an email reply from them which I got 27 August 2009. Dear Valued Customer,<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> You have interpreted the paragraph correctly. The bicycle must not exceed 20kg. You will still be allowed the 23kg of baggage. With kind regards, Customer Care SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS Tel : +27 11 978 2888 Fax : +27 11 978 9567 Email : Customercare@flysaa.com
  15. I don't think riding on the R55 near Olievenhoutbosch is a good idea. There have been some incidents close to that area in the past.
  16. Email notifications have been disabled as well.
  17. Hey Dirt*girl, I gave Holy a couple of things for the worthy cause yesterday. (I might have to refresh his memory about what I gave him as he had a bit of a lie-down whilst riding again. ) I've got a few more things I'd like to donate and will pass them on to Spud or Dirty Twin as I couldn't find the goodies in time for meeting up with Holy and co. Hope lots of donations are rolling in.
  18. Very glad to hear that he is okay. I came across your dad as he was being helped down to the car. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
  19. How about 4 October? We can use it as our "training" for the Crater Cruise.
  20. I'm keen. When did you have in mind?
  21. Owbout expanding a bit on this doc blue gunk? https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=24545&PN=15 I'm using Doc Blue. Am very happy with it so far.
