  1. This is the Cycling Safety forum. This is where I was going to sift through the posts and get the info CycleSport is looking for. Jagwil also went to a lot of effort to try to assist the police in preventing more attacks so he might already have some of the necessary info. Will PM him.
  2. How recent must the attacks be for us to report them for your purposes? I am more than willing to sift through the Hub posts and contact all the victims so that they can get hold of you.
  3. Here's the incident I was referring to (top post of page): https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=40189&PN=23
  4. Cyclesport, thanks for making the effort to ensure our safety. I hope this doesn't come across as sounding negative but what is the SAPS going to do? They caught one lot of attackers only to release them a day or two later if I remember correctly.

  8. Just got the email below from the Northern Farm forum: "Dear Mandy, <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I refer to my previous e mail in December regarding an increase in crime in the area surrounding the farm and the farm itself. Over the December period, there were two incidents of bike jackings outside of the farm, I can not comment about these as I have no specific information. A vehicle was stolen from the car park in December and three intruders were chased off of the farm two weekends ago, one of whom was subsequently arrested. This Sunday someone was unfortunately bike jacked while riding on the outer perimiter road next to the mielie fields and on the way to the cemetry. The rumours that are flying around are obviously blowing the incident out of proportion, there was only one actual incident, which I agree is one too many. I will be meeting with farm management to discuss ways in which we can mitigate against these risks in the future and will send out a further e mail within the next few days. Rest assured we shall take all reasonable steps to protect the farm users against these criminal elements. In the meantime, may I suggest that should you have any queries in this regard you address them to either myself or another member of the NFRUG committee. 10. Holy, thought the pic was on your shirt at first but now realise that it is your pressie (mug) from UNIruanCYCLE. Very cool gift. No one will steal it.

  12. Will post a "Group Ride" thread tomorrow and see how many are interested.
  13. Looks like I will be riding on Saturday morning. Just not sure what time yet though as I have a meeting there after 9 am plus I am supposed to be doing hill training on Saturday and not flat stuff. What I am considering is a 2-3 hr ride on Saturday starting at 7am (and will then do the remainder of my day's training on my IDT). Are you keen on a ride?
  14. Turtlek and Bruno.
