  1. Hi Guys, Need some assistance please, I have a 2020 Scott Spark 950. I was doing a once over when washing my bike and noticed what seemed to be a loose pivot screw, I grabbed the torque wrench and tried to tighten it, without even reaching 10nm the screw starting spinning around. So not sure if I broke it or if it was over tightened from the start but need a new one. Where will I be able to source?
  2. Forgot that Lyne also sells chainrings, affordable as well, may have to source it from them.
  3. Thanks for your input. Was thinking of either this cassette https://www.evobikes.co.za/components/cassettes/sunrace-mz90-12-speed-cassette-11-50-silver-5575.html or https://www.evobikes.co.za/components/cassettes/sunrace-casette-mz903-12-spd-11-51t-blk.html The lesser cost may dictate that I take the silver 11-50.
  4. That sounds great, thanks so much!
  5. Good day, My wife has a 2015 Scott Spark 940 which is serving her quite well, it is running its stock groupset. (Shimano Deore XT 3x10) I am looking at upgrading the bike to a 1x12, but need some help from more knowledgeable people on the group. Currently I have a Sram NX shifter and Derailleur and was thinking of pairing it with a Sunrace cassette, this cassette should be a straight bolt onto the freehub if I am not mistaken? The big question is would I be able to convert the stock crank to a 1x or is my only option to buy a new crank, and if so, which cranks are recommended? Your input would be appreciated.
  6. Saw a cyclist yesterday upon travelling home from work (essential service worker) heading towards Riverfields MTB park in Glen Marais. Hooted at him but he seemed oblivious to my cave man hand signals, best of all, Metro Cop drove straight past him and did not give a damn. (Rode an old looking 26 inch dual sus bike)
  7. Hi All, New to the forum. Been an avid mountain biker while still in school, but lost it from there due to life, but at least picking it back up 10 years later. I live in Kempton Park. I currently have a 2020 Scott Spark 950 and enjoying the bike thoroughly, ridden a couple of trails and taken a few tumbles already due to being a bit overly confident, but extreme fun nonetheless. My wife also enjoying the hobby with me, got her a used Scott Spark 740 which we will be upgrading some components in due time. We have ridden at Riverfields and at Red Barn, and looking forward to exploring more trails. Looking forward to reading some threads and gaining some knowledge and most importantly asking some newbie questions.
