  1. Another Anthem X, my 2011 Anthem X2 Upgrades include a Mavic Crossmax SLR wheelset, Truvativ Noir World Cup carbon handle bars (low-rise), shorter Kore stem and a KCNC scandium seatpost
  2. hehe.. Ja the no-hassles service free one finger X.0 kit is excellent
  3. Please tell us why it is good/bad to listen to music while you cycle. I have been pondering this for a while. Personally, I have never tried it. IMO earphones can be a safety hazard if you can't hear oncoming traffic etc. and on the mountain bike trails who needs music!
  4. Of course DG was no match for Burry. XC isn't like riding on a big, wide gravel road, it's technical! Have you ever seen someone slipstream down a stretch of singletrack? Thaught so. DG is a very good cyclist but so is Burry and he specializes in XC. There is a big difference between simply riding your MTB on gravel and riding a cross-country lap race. The result is no surprise
  5. I'd like to see what DG can do. He won't be a match for Burry on a XC course, of course. His performance in the Epic was impressive, especially considering that he hasn't really competed on the dirt before. He seems to enjoy it. So if he wants to do some mountainbiking, by all means! Let him make his own choices
  6. Olympics are the best in that price range. They are a local brand and offer better value than imported brands. Their MTB shoes come with toe studs and a screw-gadget for them. They have stiff soles which make them effective on the bike but not as comfortable off it (the cheap shimano shoes with rubber soles are more flexible). Buy them @ Flandria, since they are the cheapest AND you receive 10% cash discount on that cheap price!
  7. If you put your bottles in the fridge they become a wet mess on the bike and the cages abrade the bottle surfaces at a faster rate when there is water in the mix. When it's warm outside and you would like a cold drink, the bottles heat up very quickly (especially if you ride fast because the hot air moving over the cold bottle is what heats it up). When it's cold outside there is no need to chill your bottles. So what now?
  8. TT's last long, are able to cope with varying conditions and roll fast (just ask Mannie Heymans). Obviously Hutchinson's are good, but the softer compound wears quickly. I guess it depends on your preferences and your budget.
  9. I have a pair of No Sweat bibs- the lycra feels tough and smooth and the pad is a blue 4-way pad (similar to the AdiStar pad). For about R400 I think it's a good buy. The bib sits a lot better than the strapless No Sweat shorts and the straps are vented. There aren't many panels, though.
