  3. Lots of work for CSA if this race will continue in future . . . Good "raining ride" . . . Mc Donands toilets worked overtime as there was no decent / any facilities close to start . . . (anywhere for that matter) I saw a oomie taking a "dump" / pinching a "loaf" AKA bos-*** next to his vehicle . . . Not a good sight before a race. Found myself with 2 okes down to Magalies . . . On the back end a group came past and I grabbed on and did my part to the end. (The marshal designated to our little group did real great job and then were gone by the time we got to Rantfontein) Almost had a nasty collision with a bmw turning straight in from of our group in Ranties. Road closure or Partial road closure ? . . . ( Only the last 500 odd meters were closed )Apparently the Metro police did not show up ? Wind as always made it difficult and slow times. Managed a 3:11 , mmm , not to bad . . . I guess ?

  20. I have entered this race . . . 105 km with road closure (seeing is believing) ChampionChip timing Anybody have an idea if a route map will be available ? Hope to see you hubbers there / here in the WEST . . . ? FYI : Entries rolling in for Go West Cycle Tour 16 September 2013 – The inaugural GO WEST CYCLE TOUR is less than two weeks away and the event, which boasts full road closure for the 105km route, caters for all levels of cyclists wanting to get in some necessary legwork before some upcoming road race classics. The route is relatively flat, and barring strong winds, should provide a great leg spinner as the local road cycling season gets into full swing. http://csams.cyclingsa.com/media/21762/go_west_and_municipalities_logo.jpg ROAD RANGERS motorbike marshals will be on hand to keep riders safe, and ER24 will be providing all medical backup if needed. ABI will ensure that all of our cyclists remain hydrated along the route at the pre-planned water stations. Timing is provided by CHAMPIONCHIP. Remember to bring your chip. If you do not have a chip and wish to have a timed result on the day, timing chips will be on sale at registration. Registration and number collection will be at CYCLELAB LITTLE FALLS from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 September (13:00) for your convenience. CYCLELAB LITTLE FALLS will also be providing neutral technical support along the route. DANGEROUS PRODUCTIONS, the very same crew that produced the 2012 footage of the Amashova, will do the event TV production. Online entries for the GO WEST CYCLE TOUR, which is an initiative run in conjunction with the West Rand District Municipality, can be done at www.cyclingsa.com.
  21. Had a great day out . . . Wind ? What wind ? (The corporate guys dealt with that !)
  22. That was fun ??? I stayed/started in my "great seeding" of EL. On the top of the first real (only) hill the first 10 or 12 riders got away and I could not stick with them. So I there and then decided to wait for the next group and stay with them as far as possible to shelter from the wind. My luck , the front end of the Corporate Group ( DL ) was just behind me with 7 riders. Grabbed a wheel and stayed there , worked against the wind a bit , especially the last stretch . . . Everything felt uphill from 70 km back Managed a 3:28 and a 7th in group . . . happy with the day out . . and fund to start Later than normal !
