  1. Is there any other birds in the bird house?
  2. This is my wooden box I built for my greenhouse. I have to admit my mums boyfriend helped me a bit.
  3. Ow yeah you said that you still eat cheese and milk a litlle bit.I was just using the grass fed beef as an example because its the only beef my friends say they buy ???? *I have to admit, unfortunately my money still pays the meat industry as the cow crap is used as fertilizer for my vegetables. I even baught 2 trailers full of cow crap a month ago from a dairy farmer in pretoria.
  4. So basically you'll setttle on the point where your weight loss has hit a plateau. Keep us updated ????
  5. This is easy to refute because most of the worlds grain is fed to livestock.Yet again you guys only eat humane 'grass-fed' beef. Lets not be cynical, are you referring to critters or 'sentient' animals? So how many rodents, and other critters are killed, hundreds thousand? In Thailand a lot of ducks are shot and poisoned as pests of rice crops. The rice paddys ducks they kill in Thailand is just part of animal control just like the rodents they kill. Yes, my diet still kills animals etc. BUT my diet isnt responsible for global warming, draughts, pollution, causing a pandemic. The vegan answer, 'The goal to make the smallest impact as possible.' Lets look at what Animal farming has done. Animal farming has killed almost the entire Great Barrier coral reef in Australia.
  6. What is your current weight? How much do you want to lose?
  7. Vegans don't want to get involved in helping animals, I do have a soft spot for dogs. Vegans rather want to end animal abuse, so that includes things like not buying your dog from a breeder. I was at a local animal shelter once. Not really anything I can do for them except giving them a bath which I was instructed to do. Donating will be better. Believe me when I say that vegans dont want to be seen as animal lovers. The pamphlet idea isn't a good idea but reading about animal abuse isnt affective and will make people lose interest. They would need to watch a documentary if they truly cared.
  8. Transgender people commit suicide in alarming rates from 36% to 50% in an ncbi article that I read. I feel sorry for them.
  9. ????Skip the pamphlet and blow up the doctor's appointment room. Plant vegetables in the centre of the crator. Got it????
  10. Thats the thing. I dont want to be preachy, nor do I want to be an activist. I dont have anything to gain like a charity. So by giving them the pamphlet I can save them time so that they dont have to listen to me because ultimately there's a chance that they are going to get pissed. They then have the option to read my pamphlet or not. People dont change until they feel the need to want to. Very true, it took 8 months for my one friend to finally do a bit of research on the topic and now he's a vegetarian for 2 months.
  11. Does anyone know where I can buy coffee seeds in Joburg so that I can make my own trees. Its just the normal bean in its skin before it gets roasted if im correct.
  12. So if been to the docter to get a prescription for Ritalin. I said to my mom whatever she does she should please keep quite about my brother and I being vegan because not all docters are even close to being educated on the subject. But she couldnt help herself being proud of her boys. The docter used the same old saying, "IRON, CALCIUM, PrOTeiN" My mom being a graphic designer for UJ can help my make a pamphlet as to what vegan means and the basics you need to know. The pamphlet is strictly going to be about the diet and environmental part. Id honestly like to hear your thoughts on this. Is it a good idea to hand out a pamphlet? My mom think its a terrible idea and that people are going to dislike me for it.
  13. Bruh. To tell everyone on a veganism thread is kindof the whole point ???????? I literally dont tell anyone I'm vegan if i dont know them very well. Only if they ask I'll tell them. Its basic human instinct to interact with friends/people who are simular than you, or to tell people that you are different than then (telling people you do crossfit because its a unique sport)
  14. Thats nice, snaking on fruit the whole day is a nice approach. The standard vegan diet requires that you snack on fruit the whole day. The stereotypical diet would be the almond milk, salads and beans. The vegan failure rate is 84% so you basically pass when you die.
  15. what have you been eating. The stereotypical vegan diet or pretty much just a ton of carbs?
  16. jirr jys n DP Elite As long as I've been on this thread I think that I'm one of the only vegans here, how can I be a troll????????‍♂️. It baffles me that we as humans today know so little about the human body. So I thought that if the human body might be designed to digest animal protein/plant protein effectively then our 'stool' can maybe tell us more if we compare it to the stools of other animals (especially human like animals) and how many times a day they poop.
  17. shitty contrubtion. (pun intended probably)Google says that a healthy person should excrete 3 times per day to 3 times per week. That probably means that the person has a fibre deficiency if he craps 3 times per week. Lets focus on saving gains in our poop rather than on our bikes ????????????
  18. Brings us to the next question and im not trying to be funny. How many times per day are we suppost to discharge ourselves. When I still ate meat I pooped once per day a reasonable amount. When I first went vegan it took 3 months for my body to adjust. Some days I dont poop, while on other days I get to poop 3 times/day. My poop is very inconsistent, its not sloppy but softer and smaller than a normal meat-****. *Maybe* our poop can tell us what diet we are suppost to eat. Im sure apes and other human like animals poop more than once per day...
  19. Shae 200ml (Swim) Claricia, almond milk only Zoe 80ml Christo 450ml (Cycling) Ruben 280ml Ilke, almond milk only (Running/Gym) Dylan 120ml (Bodybuilder) Sune 10ml Layla, almond milk, Vegan. William 750ml-1L Corlia 150ml Dian 25ml (Rugby) DC 600ml (Gym/Bodybuilder) Quelin, no milk (Joburg Boet) Ben 550ml (Gym/Bodybuilder) Rizaan 300ml Pierre 180ml I took a few of my good friends and I asked them how much milk they drink per day. The results were quite interesting for me. All of them are between the ages of 19 and 20. Edit: this is what I do at a party.
  20. I must of been hung over from the night before when i posted that the morning. 19 almost 20.
  21. true tho. almond milk is not so friendly on the environment some say, but its more a people problem than a vegan problem because not only vegans drink almond milk. Im too poor for almond milk and will treat myself with soy milk now and then.
  22. Guys ive found myself a vegan girl 'friend' I was at a party and I saw 2 of her friends there. I asked them what their thoughts was on their friend being vegan. Both of them said that she can be irritating and that its all she talks about and that she must be delusional to think eating animals is wrong. Anyway, someone is going to loose 2 friends but later that night we smoked some weed and I touched both their boobs.
  23. pekkles?
  24. This is the number 1 argument everyone uses. I dont believe that you have a cow thats 100% freerange and that you would only drink from that cow. Ok but lets say you do have a cow that's free range, like most people who live in vereeniging. I see nothing wrong with that. A simple solution is maybe to know where your products are coming from. I know multiple small scale farmers. My aunt would normally buy her eggs from the farmer. It might not be convenient but atleast you know that you're not paying for animal abuse. Yet this will never happen. Dont feel that im having a go at you guys. The forums name is still the veganism thread. Do you guys partially agree what I had to say?
  25. Just in case that some of you thought that RSA is special and that we dont abuse animals.
