  1. 😪 nothing wrong with chinese carbon. You would be surprised how many track cyclists run chinese carbon bars on their bikes.
  2. Hey, I need advice. The guy who is being divorced has a curator who is also his brother, the brother is scared that he has to look after his his brain dead brother once his wife divorced him. You cannot go to the Supreme Court until you show them that you have undergone mediation as far as I know. The brother refuses to respond or accept a date from the lawyers for mediation. Its been 4 months and still no mediation meeting. The sane brother wants the whole house as well has half of the wife's pension. The settlement didn't work ovcourse because he is unreasonable as ****. Supreme Court will be the only option for the wife to get a divorce. What is the next step with the mediation?
  3. Blend the tofu and add a 1:1.5 ratio of flour with the blended tofu. You can add any spice. Cover the outside with cornflakes. Thats the best vegan schnitzel ive ever made. #staywoke. Well done with your vegan anniversary!
  4. Why would my local bike shop sell me a brake cable without a banjo, olive and barb. They sell it for R50 a meter with no banjo attached. It looks to me that it cant be attached and that it has to be baught like that. Ill rather let them do it then.. I just dont want to pay near R500 to have it done.
  5. I need to replace my brake cable. I think you can re-use the olive and that pinn thingy that goes into the brake hose that attach to the brake lever. I also have to take the hose out of the caliper. I cant get the old hose out of the banjo. Should I rip it out with pliers? How will I get the new hose to stick in the banjo? What is keeping the cable and the banjo together?
  6. Its the second time Ive seen a cyclist sniff ammonia salt before a workout. I was in virgin active and I saw a young guy sniffing it while he was on the wattbike and a 16 year while he was doing intervals on the road. It is said that you breath faster and that it triggers the release of adrenaline. Is this use of salts normal under cyclists? I cant find any info on google that says the pros use it. Whats your thoughts on this?
  7. Tofu, Leafy greens , beans and lentils, chia seeds and flax seeds. Im sure you'll easily meet your daily requirement of calcium if eat 1 cup of leafy greens, 1 cup of cooked beans and lentils, and 2 teaspoons of seeds. 1/3 teaspoon of calcium and creatine is the only supplements I take. (Tofu is very inexpensive. I buy a pack of 600g tofu for R20 from a Chinese lady at the Carreira fruit and vegetable market in Randburg)
  8. Haha, why would anyone in their right mind pay over R2000 for 2 jockey wheels that literally cost under a R100 to make. ????
  9. The average bikehub person is way to greedy to sell a decent chainring for that price.
  10. Jean Spies didnt make the qualifying round today (4 Aug) in the 200m track sprint. Jean Spies- 9.787 SA record- 9.786 The best qualifying time was 9.21... Im not sure what time he should have had to go to the heat rounds but he missed the last guy that qualified with 0.082s The 200m is possibly one of the hardest events to compete in. Its takes a lot of time on the bike as well as the gym. Jean is one of the best track sprinters. He made us proud!
  11. Get yourself a speaker and put it in your bottle cage. Youll hear the traffic much easier.
  12. This isnt a spelling bee. I havent turned on the auto correct function on my phone.
  13. I sold the bike as a whole to a guy after servicing it. I baught it for R4k and sold it for R9.5k. I barely made profit, I had to replace the chain, put new tubes in. Pay my friend to put new bearings in the rear hub. Pay my brother to bleed both brakes. I baught it from a guy in cosmo city. Where he got it I dont know. Thats not unethical for me to buy the bike.
  14. A younger friend of mine baught a specialized helmet, specialized grips and bartape for next to nothing at a lawnmower shop in Randburg. The owner of the shop told him that they got all the stock from Botswana, everything was ment for development riders in Botswana. I dont know why they have it in their possession and why they sell it for cheap. Its not like its old stock or anything. The whole story sounds unethical to me. They had a lot of stock in a picture I saw, so my brother and I went and had a look. There was nothing left when we got there. The owner told us that someone baught everything from them and was going to resell it in his shop or facebook marketplace. The same happens here on bikehub. Whenever a good deal comes up, then one of our beloved bikehub tycoons will buy it only to resell it. Ive seen 3 negative reviews before where a seller complains because his bike is being sold for way more than what he originally sold it for. Im sure the majority wont agree with me but thats fine. I just want to share with you guys how I feel.
  15. Who else celebrated 4:20 today?
  16. People on bikehub will avoid this thread as they dont understand veganism or just dont care about it. Vegans are thrown in the same category as feminists, socialists and the lgbtq community. You'd be surprised how many teens are vegan and what their attitude towards veganism is nowadays... Most younger people (16-26) will actually acknowledge that the plantbased is healthy or even healthier than other diets but there is still a lot of idiots out there.
  17. will watch ???? It didn't strike as a "vegan" movie tho.
  18. Totatlly random but the most profitable vegetable I've ever planted is eggplant. I've harvested 23 eggplants this year in 1.5m^2 of ground. I noticed that the eggplants that get more shade are white while the full sun eggplants are purple but they come out as white or purple, they don't turn white or purple. I also pickled 6 jars of pepperdews. I've had very bad experience with lettuce and coriander as their lifespan is very short and it doesn't harvest a lot. I've been successful with rocket, basil, parsley and sage as they have a very long lifespan especially parsley. Plant vegetables/leaf vegetables that you know you'll eat and plant stuff that are expensive in the grocery store.
  19. A lot of people don't even classify cheese as vegetarian as many cheeses are made with rennet, an enzyme that comes from calves' stomach lining.Softer cheeses and other dairy products don't contain rennet. People really overcomplicate things ????
