  1. tell us what it does...
  2. Just saw that too. It is a tempting deal. I prefer the black and titanium to the punk colours
  3. Where did you buy for Fuga and how much was it?
  4. Do you like your flux?
  5. Right, Ok. so i've decided on a MTB type lid with a peak/visor and some extra protection. Question is FOX STRIKER or FOX FLUX, both get decent reviews....the flux is R300 cheaper on buycycle.... Anyone with any experience of these helmets?
  6. You would be easy to spot in an avalanche thats for sure. Is the helmet super hot though? I sweat mostly through my head so need something with some more holes.
  7. So the functional difference is visor, which you may take off anyways but the point of a potential visor is to seperate yourself from the roadies and is therefore better than no visor at all... Any tangible functional differences between the two, apart from some models with more occipital protection? What do the pro XC riders wear, mtb specific or road?
  8. Where can you get spez helmets...don't think i've seen them around? This is an AM geared helmet. Depending on how often you fall off do you think you'd need this for XC.... I suppose better have and not need it than need it and not have it....
  9. Don't think i've seen many oaks keep the visors either
  10. Any ones in particular? Most of them look pretty similar in photos but perhaps MTB ones look a little more robust, although i'm not sure why... cars or tarmac is fairly unforgiving stuff.
  11. Looking for a new helmet and found some good deals but what is the really the difference between road and MTB helmets? apart from the addition of a visor. Most people i've seen seem to wear either for anything except AM and DH which need full face etc. Does XC require a MTB specific lid?
  12. Anyone got any other ideas other than the Anthem or Pivot...?
  13. Yeah, don't really feel like a carbon rig...just don't feel as confident coming off one, which I do regularly
  14. Do you know who to contact about warranties and things? Do pivot have any proprietory bits on them?
  15. Yep, just looked, they do all seem to think its nice. I like to climb so a little concerned about the extra weight but its all about where they put it and how the machine feels...shme they don't have any shops with them to check out.
  16. The pivot reviews all look pretty good. does anyone know who stocks them so i can actually see one? I will look around for some of last years but new frames. I'm a light rider so want something light to match. any other ideas other than the pivot?
  17. Do you know anyone with a pivot who can comment on the quality?
  18. I have thought about it but i've never owned a brand new bike or frame with warranty and so I'd like something that is covered and new.
  19. Giant need an adapter in anycase as their headsets 'Overdrive II' are bigger than any fork steerer i think.
  20. Yep, got a tapered fork steerer
  21. In the market for a new 26er 100mm full susser frame. Looking for a light alu frame for XC and light trail. (got 10k to spend on new not used). Number 1 option: Giant Anthem (heard only good things about) any other ideas....?????
  22. Not very hard at all but par for the course I reckon. Guys at Linden just said the frame carried a 5 year warranty, that will hold as long as you're not doing something stupid...pretty sure doing stupid things is part of the fun. In the US the frames seem to be covered for the duration of the 1st owner's use of it.
  23. I did call them but sat on hold numerous times as they tried to find someone to help. Ended up giving up after 15 mins being passed back to the receptionist. I'll try again but they've probably left to go home for the day...
  24. Isn't the trance designed to carry a 120mm front and back?
  25. This is exactly what i'm wanting to do. Glad to hear it works for you...Where do you ride and what kind of riding do you do?
