  1. Thanks, I left the tyres to dry and it seems to be coming easier than before. I haven't used a bomb on the tyre before.
  2. After I punctured this weekend, and my tire didn't seal again I thought it might be time to clean my tires and rims and reseal my tubeless setup from scratch. After I removed the tire I found that the inside was completely dry (guess that's why it didn't seal), and the inside of the tire was covered with this rubbery/silicone substance. Is that what happens to Stans after it dies? My question... how the hell do you clean the inside of the tire? Do I need to clean it? I don't want to use something like turpentine as I don't know what it will do to the tire... any suggestions or advise? Thanks!
  3. Wonder what the reasoning behind that could be?
  4. Cool review. I have the Wolverine 29 2.2 front and back and really like the tires. But like you mentioned, something with a bit wider spacing could maybe work better upfront. Bought mine from Epic in December. Sucks that they don't bring it in anymore.
  5. Will the Black and Grey shorts not be bibs? Looks cool, will put in an order next month after payday
  6. From the site We apologise for the delay in posting the results. Due to the fact that some riders chose to ride the short route despite registering for the long route, the result rankings needs to be checked manually and it may not be possible to provide an official ranking for the 2011 Cape Times Vigne à Vigne. If you would like to receive your time, please email info@cape-epic.com and we will give you your race time. Our sincere apologies and you have our commitment that the 2012 Cape Times Vigne à Vigne will have accurate race results similar to those delivered for the Absa Cape Epic. Timing chips?
  7. mmmm... what happened to Sarah's post?
  8. Bier en wyn!
  9. Die potjiekos na die race is moer lekker. Kom ry... al is dit net vir die potjiekos
  10. I still need my granny. 24T small ring upfront, and 36T big ring at the back. Still struggling up the really steep climbs. But I think fitness/strength might be the problem, rather than gearing. Should maybe lose 5kg too.. should help
  11. Hehe
  12. You always think you've seen the worst, or heard it all... but the world(people) keep on surprising me.
  13. If there was a "throw-up" emoticon I would use that now.
  14. My first bike was a 2009 Silverback. Never had any problems. Maybe a lot of people out there still have negative connotations about the brand based on what they experienced when it started in 2005 (or there about). The bikes have come a long way since then.
  15. Holy moley! DO NOT GOOGLE "smegma".
  16. Yeah... probably trying to figure out how to generate finish times for all the people coming in after they packed up their lazy asses before race cut-off.
  17. +1 Buffelsbaai is 'n lekker plekkie.
  18. Why are you only looking up the 2010 result now?
  19. +1 on that!
  20. So why did I pay R180?? For them to stay olny half the race? I think not!
  21. Great route! I found it very challenging, probably because I've been a bit lazy with training the last 3 weeks. One thing that pissed me off... quite a lot! I came in at about 12:10. Cut-off was 12:30. When I got in there was nobody taking my time. There was nothing to drink, everybody already packed up. And I got no medal. WTF?? It's not that I really care about the medal or the time, but it just pisses me off that they could care so little about the riders. And it wasn't like I was the last rider in... there were still quite a few riders out there. Real anti-climax after all the great single track coming down from the last water point
Sien jou daar.
  23. What about them?

  25. I got the XTC in October last year, and I love the bike. The only real issue I have is the stock brakes... they aren't the best (Alivio if I am not mistaken). I would take that into consideration, since you might want to upgrade them straight away. I'm still stuck with them, but looking at upgrading to SLX or XT. The stock brakes work fine, but I do find that they start to fade a little on long descents. Other than that I don't think I would notice the difference between SLX/XT(Giant) and XT(SB). Love the Fox fork. It was a bit stiff in the beginning, but it's nice and smooth now. Also, the Maxxis Aspens that come standard with the Giant puncture VERY easy. I got some new tires, and did a tubeless conversion. The stock Giant wheelset had no problems with the conversion, and inflated first time with a footpump. But still... full XT groupset looks attractive, and would make my decision difficult if I had to choose now.
