Misinformed idiot... When I read an article where the "author" (I used air-quotes because the spelling/grammar/logic is useless in the article) has to exaggerate every detail just to get his point across I can't take them seriously.
I noticed on Sunday they were riding the heavier alu Anthems, and not their normal caaaarbon XTCs. Must say a lot about the type of terrain of the Epic if are willing to trade weight for some comfort/traction. The harshness of the ride probably takes its toll on the body after a few days. And they are still winning, so guess it's a acceptable tradeoff.
I don't even notice the rubber sweat thing. I do sweat quite a bit, and during the Argus I had no issues with sweat in my eyes. Never had to remove it to wipe sweat from my eyes.
On the big climb and even top riders struggle for traction. Topeak lead. 360Life, 36ONE, BMC, Bulls, Merida all on pace. Looks like the tracking is just glitchy...
I have the Asphalts. I like it. Good lenses, comfortable, and I find that they don't fog up easily. Also use them for running and they're fine. Bought a pair of Asphalts and Bravados at the Argus Expo for R675.
Question: I see a lot of the pro-teams had at least one member riding with a Go-Pro (during prologue and stage 1 anyway). I'm guessing a GoPro doesn't weight very much, but since the riders are so weight conscious why are they riding with them?
