  1. Maybe I'll give it a go this weekend. Got some goodies coming in so a fork service is on the cards as well. And maybe different brakes.
  2. '07 Deore. I'm sure I can remove the indicator, just not sure if the shifter will work afterwards!
  3. Great info, thanks! Will have to keep an eye out XTs.
  4. Thanks T. I'm just looking for something very strong at the moment. I'm already running a fairly strong chain, but I still managed to partially pull apart one of the links. I'll see if I can fix it as a temporary measure.
  5. Okay, lets say the prices are the same, but the one thing that CRC has that most LBS don't have is this: The convenience of sitting on your ass ordering your impulse buy on the net. I've got a serious online shopping problem, I'll admit it, but it's just so easy! Why do I want to get in my car, drive around looking for what I want and then only buy it? And what about those nights where you get some brainfart at 10pm about a new part for your bike? You can't wake your LBS owner up at 10, but you can order your new goodies and then feel like a kid when it finally arrives! It's a much more satisfying experience! I guess it's fairly obvious that I have issues...
  6. This one looks pretty hardcore as well... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=11288
  7. No pictures means it didn't happen!
  8. This one looks good, anyone have experience with it? http://www.kmcchain.com/index.php?ln=en&fn=find&mo=view&id=632
  9. My trials bike is a singlespeed, so I don't need a thin chain or anything, I'd rather go for something extra strong. The trials bike chain does take a LOT of pressure, so what's the strongest option?

    Sure Death

I'm a trials rider! That means I normally do a max speed of about 10kmh.

Should be okay on a DH bike, but I wouldn't try it on a hardtail!
  12. I prefer running my brakes quite far into the handlebars since I only use 1 finger to brake. This means that the shifter also moves away from the grip, making it uncomfortable to change gears. I can't run the shifters on the other side of the brake, since the little 'gear indicator' is in the way. My questions: Can I remove the gear indicator from the Shimano shifters? How? Are there more compact shifters available (SRAM, Microshift, anything) that work with Shimano derailleurs?
  13. That looks really cool. Great work!
  14. I'm planning on putting a DJ gear on the Trials bike, that way I don't need to worry about destroying the 'Goose. 24-spoke wheels just seem WAY too flimsy.
  15. Black frame with white flames, silver trim on the flames.
  16. Yes I did! It challenges my belief system quite a bit, but I think I may be able to get used to it.
  17. Looks like there could be some cool riding there. I tried the dirtjumps this morning on the 'Goose, and it's pretty tough but a lot of fun.
  18. Awesome story Bos!
  19. I'm gonna do that and use the bits to build myself a jump bike...
  20. No front brake? Typical BMXer...
