  1. You guys didn't offer me beer! You shoved it into my hands, taking advantage of my inability to say no! Can't say I didn't need another one after lunch with the inlaws...
  2. Bwhahaha! I'll be sure to remind him of that! My mechanic can't ride a bike - should I be worried?
  3. I would go for SLX if it was me. They look strong, nice design, and Shimano is easily available country-wide, meaning spares would be easy. SLX is also great value for money from what I've heard, seen and read.
  4. I agree! We need to see a pic of this killer bridge (with or without vomit).
  5. Am I the only one wondering how a road bike can have a hole knocked in it by a stone? Are you saying that the front tyre shot a stone up with enough velocity that it knocked a hole in the frame?
  6. I've noticed something odd as well - there would be a sh!tty comment made, I get it in my email, but when I check the forum it's not there
  7. Not sure about gear/brake cables, but what happens on a guitar is not that the strings stretch, but that they wind tighter wherever the string bends. That's why the guitar goes out of tune quickly with new strings.
  8. speaking from experience? Obviously not! Martic girls on roofies just lie there, the Joe Blow actually works pretty well.
  9. You've been speaking to my wife again!
  10. least i don't have to drop my saddle so my boep doesn't get caught on it? It's not a boep! It's a fuel tank for a sex machine!
  11. Well I suppose it would depend on who's trying to learn. Some of us may just be beyond help. *cough*HR*cough*
  12. Drive a Hummer' date=' it's cheaper... [/quote'] That would be much funnier if it wasn't true.
  13. Been getting some interest, will be finalising everything soon. PM me to book a spot.
  14. Well, that would explain why I can't clear the dirt jumps properly. Never thought of that! Maybe I should change my nickname to catapult...
  15. Tea, cake, and the chance to impress a few bored housewives with my mad skills... Sounds like a plan!
  16. So from next month I'm playing the 'housewife', so can I join?
  17. That's bad news, although it sounds like he'll be okay. He's been training very hard, must be very depressing to be out for the season when he's been performing so well.
  18. Nothing you can't achieve with a grinder.
  19. Okay, here's the idea: This will be very much a beginner level workshop. We're still busy finalising the content, but the main focus will be on stationary balance and getting over obstacles that you normally come across on a trail. We're thinking of doing this on the Spruit, that way we can have realistic terrain. Depending on the group, I'm sure we can teach them several ways to mount pavements - pivots, hops, bunnyhops, sidehops, backwheel hops, pedal ups, front-wheel 180's... you get the idea Preliminary date is set for Sunday 19 July, 8h00 for 8h30, venue to be confirmed. Cost will be R100 per person, limited to 10 people. This is a half-price offering to allow us to get into things, as well as get some feedback. Anyone wishing to book early, please PM me. I think we'll do it on a first come first serve basis, EFT or cash to secure.
  20. Well I'm sure we can get you off the Grondpad and onto something cooler!
  21. Ghey! Who needs fitness anyway? Look at me, I'm in prime (rib) condition. And I don't need to get in shape, round IS a shape!
  22. Sure thing! Bring your own Bandaids!
  23. Well, we haven't really thought that far yet. I'm thinking a Sunday may be better for most, but that will need to be decided. I'll start filling in the blanks after the weekend.
  24. Cool, seems like there is at least a bit of interest. Will work on a curriculum, then we'll confirm venue details and price. The course may be offered at half-price, if we receive good feedback we'll consider doing it as a regular thing.
