  1. You mean this one here? http://www.treadmag.co.za/DisplayCustomLink.aspx?club=treadmag&name=CRASH%20AND%20LEARN To be honest, it really looks more like he just stopped to smell the grass.
  2. Not sure that'll work, some people are beyond help!
  3. Race? What's that? Will see about putting something together. It will be in JoBurg only, unless someone is willing to pay for flights to Cape Town.
  4. So you're interested then?
  5. Sure! I always find that my balance is at its best when I'm hammered.
  6. So when we do Trials riding, we get a lot of "I want to learn that" type of comments. Also, when there's guys at the course or on the rides that have less experience (not that I'm great or anything) they normally pick our brains a lot to get their technique right etc. I was speaking to Peach about putting together a skills clinic that aims at teaching Trials basics and how to incorporate it into 'normal' MTBing. There's nothing formal put down yet, since I don't know how much interest it'll get, but right now I'm thinking we could cover things like: Stationary balance - Trackstand, Pivots, Hopping Rolling balance Moving over obstacles by using your weight and drivetrain The bunnyhop Just that will already be more then enough for a 2-hour session, so we may look at doing a follow-up class or 2 as well. Would anyone be interested? What would you be interested in learning?
  7. There's a Freeride section? I really need to get away from the trials course a bit...
  8. you must have a small to a smurf? Also, wasn't there only 1 girly smurf? Talk about sloppy seconds!
  9. Not THAT surprising actually. I think I've cursed gravity too much now it's messing with me!
  10. Giants suck! You should get a 'Goose!
  11. That photo makes the first jump look deceptively small. Oh, and that drop-in is just stupid. Can't wait to try it!
  12. Nice read! Sounds like how I used to 'fix' my bikes when I was a kid.
  13. Shows the importance of wearing the proper protective gear. Not that it saved most of those guys from injury.
  14. AAARGH!! It's that time of the year already, when thet start showing the new models? I've got serious GAS already, last thing I need is to see all the pretty new bikes - especially since I'm without paycheck from next month!
  15. Maybe I grow my own...
  16. Found it! Very cool! You should set up a youtube channel and get some video's sent in.
  17. Pick me! Pick me! I'm working from home from next month, so I'll need some friends an excuse to get out of the house.
  18. In that case, I want a 4-page interview with each of the 8 amateur Trials riders in SA, as well as reviews of the entire Koxx, Zoo, Echo and Inspired ranges. While you're at it, I also want an article on how to service a Front Freewheel, and how to pedal-up onto a 1-meter ledge. I think HR should do the pedal-up, he falls lots so it'll be funny.
  19. Okay, I've stayed out of this one till now, but I think that Tread Mag is definitely on the right path. I'm still not done with the first issue, and I got it about 2 weeks after the launch. It's a very good read, and I LOVE the matt finish print. It's such an elegant touch. In terms of competing with MBUK, I don't think that's what the magazine is about, or should be for that matter. I think Tread is delivering good local content, something that everyone has been bitching about in the past. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Tread, and how the quality and content will increase. Keep up the good work guys!
  20. Sorry to hear about the second tumour, keep strong and kick the sh!t outta this cancer once and for all. Good luck man!
  21. I agree! I don't want to move to SRAM. I'm used to Shimano, only ever used Shimano since primary school, I don't want anything else! From what I can see it's only SLX, XT, XTR and Saint that can remove the indicator. SRAM has teh indicator in the clamp, which puts it out of the way. Much better idea in my opinion.
