  1. I remember reading about that like it was yesterday Deanbean, a truly remarkable story. They say a picture says a thousand words, well, that one of Schoep been cradled in the water says more than any words ever could,.. there are incredible people out there,.. this gentleman is certainly one of them.
  2. I agree on that point wholeheartedly. On the other side of the coin, for me anyway ( and perhaps judging by the number of Nespresso machines out there) a fair number of others too, just want a good cup of hot coffee and I am not interested in the process of getting it, I enjoy drinking it not making it, so I simply open a sleeve, pop in a pod and 40 seconds later I walk away with a great cup of coffee. Damn, the stress of 8 capsules left and 6ft of snow outside is making me cranky!!.
  3. Hmm,.. well, we all have our opinions I guess.
  4. ......Hmm, but then they would be "stale" surely..
  5. - actually I would pay good money for one to do so, sadly I do believe they are also all hunkered down somewhere trying to stay warm.
  6. I am seriously concerned, I am down to my last sleeve of Nespresso Pods and it looks like this outside. I think I am going to cry.
  7. - you are almost as Grumpy as me. ...sure the popcorn munching, cool-drink slurping, cell phone gawking crown also annoy me and especially here because seats are not allocated and its a free for all, but in general I enjoy the cinema, I like the big screen experience especially if its a good movie. I always feel distracted at home and my concentration dwindles, anything over 45 minutes and I will most likely fall asleep.
  8. My next Harley. Harley here is huge, some of the big dealers even have their own Hotel on site.
  9. There are lots of these kinds of bikes running around the USA.The engineering involved is quite incredible and they are all mostly hand built, even if they are so called name brands like "Boss Hoss". At my local Harley dealer they had one for sale a few months back and I took a few shots of it on the showroom floor, I forget the price now but it was well into the $45.000.00 range, someone snapped it up within a month, there is an incredibly high demand because if you order one you could look at a lead time of about 8-12 months, so any that come into the market are quickly grabbed up.
  10. I have not really seem much of interest recently but over the weekend I watched EXODUS which I enjoyed immensely. Its a Hollywood blockbuster and not historically accurate, but its good entertainment and I would recommend it. However if possible you need to watch it in 3D to really do it justice.
  11. Yah, I am hoping for a breakaway, the stage looks good for someone like Gilbert but I am not quite sure his form is good enough, he hasn't really shown himself.....but lets see. Also a good stage for the "Little Prince" Cunego has been out there trying so I dont know if he has the legs anymore and the last 30 odd kms are quite tough so late in the tour, but on paper, these punchy hills should suit him. Lets see.
  12. Not much has been said about Uran's spectacular collapse yesterday. I didnt see any article which gave any reasons for him falling off so easily, I initially thought he may have bonked but now I just think Sundays chase of 'Berto, Valverde, Froome and Rodriguez was too severe and he had nothing left. I really felt sorry for him, I like Uran he is one of the quiet guys and just gets on with it, but to see him under pressure like that, I can only imagine how hard he pushed himself the previous day.
  13. Looks like it, but I wouldn't write Valverde off, he wont go down easily and he has a very strong team,.... but yah, judging by Froome's performance yesterday I think Valverde will struggle to match him on the penultimate stage, but then, look back a day and on Saturday Valverde had Froome distanced, so it should be interesting. Maybe Valverde will try a long range attack, his team is strong enough, I think it may be his only hope.
  14. Hmm, it will be a hard stage for second and third but 'Berto has a stranglehold on top spot now, he would need to have a fall or a "Uran moment" to lose 1.30 odd minutes, of course it could happen, but all been equal I think 'Berto can pretty much look after himself and match any attack thrown at him on the climb.
  15. Hmm, yeah, in my opinion typical Sky media cover up. I just think, at this race, 'Berto is better. I also think theres no disgrace in saying so, .......but I would never expect that from Sky.
  16. Its official, at the Vuelta this year 'Berto is the best and the podium girls are the prettiest. What more could you ask for.?
  17. As do most smaller economies. Its really only the mighty US market that can withstand the onslaught of the internet sales industry, and even here there are signs of cracks in some of the smaller volume niche industries.
  18. Yeah, most likely. One of the greats though, right up there with Petacchi as a master of the lead out train, how I miss those strong lead outs of old, you dont see them much anymore.
  19. Another good win for Degenkolb yesterday....he is turning into my favourite sprinter. Bumpy day again today I see, certainly not a sprinters day so my feeling is 'Berto / Saxo will let any break go today so we may see a successful breakaway. Just as an aside, anyone notice how lean Tom Boonen is? He appears to be a lot leaner than usual and maybe thats why his sprinting is a bit below par.....dunno, just guessing, but its certainly the leanest I have seen him in years.
  20. Looks quite bumpy, maybe suit John Degenkolb again.? I have been hoping to see Ferrari in the mix but so far he hasnt really featured, but I am quite impressed with Pardilla's performance, he is up there on the climbs, in the sprints, he is everywhere, MTN got a good signing there.
  21. - Ha, Ha, well Valverde will anyway..........I doubt 'Berto was worried.
  22. Yah, I agree. Of course the instruction manual will say that "Berto now just needs to defend his position to win, and if it was any other rider I think thats what they would do, but 'Berto usually doesn't get those memo's, and when that steel plate in his head gets all heated up under the Spanish Sun it short circuits that neuron! 'Berto will want a stage win or two as well, when it will be is the question, ......depends how hot that plate gets.!
  23. Its a point, certainly its the Saxo "B" team after they had their best at the tour, but of all the GC contenders in the peleton 'Berto is, in my opinion, the only one who can quite easily look after himself under almost all normal circumstances. Of course a flat or a fall or a mechanical could be disastrous for him, but he is well able to look after himself.
