  1. Yeah, I grabbed a Nespresso "U" this morning for my holiday house, so now I can enjoy a nice cuppa coffee when I am there over weekends and so on without lugging my big machine around. Nespresso in Sandton this morning was chaos, people were standing three deep at the coffee bar and these little U machines were running out the door, the guy who served me said he alone had sold 9 today. Of course, I also topped up my Coconut capsule supply, but still no sign of the Christmas blend,....... I think I am starting to stress.
  2. I think perhaps you misunderstood the rationale behind their "Anti-sportsman" issue. In 2002 Sports Illustrated rated him "Sportsman of the year", which appears to have been well accepted, at least I dont recall hearing such comments as "Sensationalist, Ballsy or Substandard" then, actually I think most people "Championed" the magazine for been so supportive of a small sport like cycling in a mass publication magazine like SI and especially for promoting local USA based cycling athletes. Now that they are now simply undoing their previous "Vote of Confidence" and replacing it with a "Vote of No Confidence" - due to obvious reasons, they are slated as "Sensationalist, Ballsy and Substandard". Why.? It seems its okay to vote him in, but not to vote him out.? Personally. I see nothing Sensationalist about it, to be honest, I think it was a good editorial decision, had they not done so they could possibly have been seen as supportive of a drug cheat.
  3. Hmm, Strong words, and from a respectable magazine like this, they have to cut deep.
  4. Wow, a whole new chapter in your life and it sounds like you are positive and ready to give it your best shot, with that attitude it will be a breeze. Best wishes for the future man, I enjoyed your company here.
  5. Strange how different tastes are,I am not so fond of the hazelnut, but I think worldwide its by far and away the most popular coffee blend / flavour, for me its still the coconut - maybe I am just odd.!
  6. Got this album playing in the background right now - wish I had the original Peter Schilling one on you tube though............this one is in German. But still great. Turn up them speakers and enjoy..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf-tD2y8lJE&feature=related
  7. Yeah, either the Pixie or the U machine. I dont need a bag as I'll just leave it there. I have been carting my big Nespresso around and its a "real pain in the butt" plus I think its only a matter of time before it gets damaged. On the Crealto issue, I used my last pod this morning - think I am gonna cry.! I even took a photo.....................for posterity and all...........
  8. Oh my goodness, .......thats at least 10 demerit points Wayne.
  9. Yeah, me too, Tommy always makes a race that much more interesting.
  10. There are still a lot of honest folk out there and probably 95% of Lindens clients are honest and trustworthy, but sadly suppliers have to treat everyone like criminals today due to the small 5% that would think nothing of stealing a product. Its a sad reflection on the times, but, I hope it doesn't deter them from offering a loan or test product because I think it is a needed service,...... maybe just tighten up a little on the paperwork? - most clients will understand.
  11. Really nice, just in time for Christmas.! If I had a little fella or gal I would be rushing out to get one for them.
  12. Shoo, I didnt see that either, a really strong pedigree then. Really great to watch.
  13. - Ha, Ha, yeah I agree, - have you tasted the new Variations nut flavors Dangle?
  14. Fair enough but thats your opinion. Others mileage may differ, and there appears to be many "others", as the Nespresso Coconut flavour is sold out after less than a week.
  15. Hmm, I just watched some of the highlights now, I think Sharon was great, it was absolutely thrilling to see her ride the last 40 odd kms on her own and take the race win. I found myself willing her on and in the end I have to say it was thoroughly deserved. They started to interview her but my PVR timed out so I missed most of it, but from what I heard she appears to have quite a pedigree behind, second in the woman's TDF I believe, yet I think its the first time I hear of her. These days I seem to enjoy watching the woman's races more than the men, case in point the woman's Olympic race which was completely enthralling as well.
  16. Yeah, its not something I add to every coffee and definitely not to a blended Nespresso, but it has its days. In winter I brew up a nice big cuppa, add a shot of Hazelnut and Amaretto and settle down with a honey rusk. Man, ...........cant wait for Winter again.!
  17. - Ha, Ha, yeah, I am thinking of buying one of the smaller machines for my Holiday Home on the Vaal - I go there quite regularly just for the day and a nice Nespresso would be great. If I go for a weekend or something I load my Nespresso and take it with, but its a bit of a hassle for just a day.
  18. I have a lot of flavored syrup, I travel regularly to the USA and they are big on adding flavors as you probably know, so I always bring some of the better ones back, Hazelnut and Amaretto are the most popular syrup's but they have many, - but its like comparing "chalk and cheese" if you compare the Nespresso blends like Coconut to a coconut flavored syrup - the Nespresso blend is 1000 times better.
  19. Yeah, go to the Nespresso shop in Sandton City, they have a little coffee bar where you can try all the blends no charge.
  20. Yeah the coconut is tops, mine is finished already. Was gonna go past tomorrow, but I'll wait till Wednesday. The Hazelnut is good, I agree, still have two or three sleeves left so I'll drink them until Wednesday. Gonna grab 20 sleeves of coconut as well, I love it.

    2012 94.7

I doubt its that high, when I was assisting organizing races we worked on a "5% No show" on the day, on a big event like this it may be a little higher, maybe 8% but I think the big loss of numbers is people not wearing chips or non recording of the chips.

    2012 94.7

Hmm, my 13th consecutive 94.7 and my wife's 11th. We rode around together as we have done for the last 3 years and were happy to ride along on our own and just be together for a while doing something outdoors in the sun, I dont know if we will be back, God willing we will, but its not in our hands, and so now I just enjoy these simple days together and give thanks for a healthy body and someone to enjoy the day with.
  23. Absolutely, seems he wants a "closed business policy" so that he has no external opposition and can operate within his own comfortable narrow field of business. The global economy is huge, companies that will prosper going forward have realized that not only do they have a mobile customer base now but that the international retail world is only a click away, the clients choice of retail shopping has broadened a 100 fold. Prosperous manufacturers / distributors are trying to get closer to their client base every day, not further away.
  24. Well, ladies and gentlefolk, Nespresso has three new blends out, called "Variations". I bought two tubes of the coconut yesterday and I am embarrassed to say I have already drank half a tube today, thats 5 pods since this morning 5.30 am. Its that good.! If you like new blends hot foot it over to the Nespresso shop and pick up a few tubes, I can recommend it. http://www.nespresso.com/ultimate-coffee-creations/ZA/en/variations?cid=EM_ZAen_B2C_Nov12_Int_Variations2012_Launch_Milk#/home

    94.7 Expo

Madhouse, honestly not pleasant - I think I waited 20 minutes in the line, maybe more. Didnt even stop anywhere, just walked through and out - had coffee and something to eat at the coffee shop in Sandton City.
