  1. Hmm, perhaps that "Main" sponsor may just decide to just withdraw his funding after an unprofessional outburst like that against them,......... frankly I would. I agree with Jaco, there are ways of expressing yourself without been personal or demeaning, seems Mr Citracca may need to take a course in PR management or there may very well be no team, which would be unfortunate, as I think its a great little outfit with some very promising riders.
  2. - Ha,Ha, well, what can one say,.......... I agree.!
  3. No indeed, it plays into his hands all the way, unfortunately it tends to favor some riders and prejudice other's, as there are less opportunities to be unseated or improve your position. Personally I think Cadel would have lost second spot to Uran today, so Uran could possibly feel he has lost an opportunity, and Scarponi as well, I am convinced he could take a podium spot, perhaps Santambrogio too. ........but Yeah, unfortunately those are the breaks, you win some, you lose some, but mainly its left me bored stiff this afternoon.
  4. Indeed, Scarpo needs to move up a spot or two, .........
  5. Yeah, one of mine favourites too. I was hoping Scarpo could take some time today, but seems like the weather is just too bad.
  6. Oi Christie, ..........I'll have you know I called Nibali's Mum yesterday and like any good self respecting Italian boy she told me she prepares all Nibali's pasta with good quality Italian produce, no Spanish imported meat in her dishes, promise.! So I guess that settles it huh.?
  7. Oh Dear, thats not good for Scarpo's chances to go one or two up in the standings, he needs a long steep climb to build up a head of steam, .................also sounds like it may favor Cadel, I think his climbing legs are toast right now.
  8. Oh yeah..... Watch the old boy over the next two days, he is a pure climber, one of the last around, anything can happen.
  9. Thrilling stuff, really, really thrilling, no one now can doubt Nibali's credentials as a Grand Tour winner. He sealed that today in the best possible way, by obliterating the opposition. ........and what about old man Scarpo??,.........just great to see him fighting for a podium position, and you know what, I think he will get it. Just a splendid day of racing. Forza Giro Forza.!
  10. I visit Dr Sareli (Cardiologist) at the Mulbarton hospital where he has his rooms. Very well respected in his field and has been very good for me - Doctors are personal, I may like one you dont so I never advise people to "GO" see this or that one, but if you want to call, his number is 011 432 3712.
  11. Hmm, yeah, should be good. Personally I dont think much will change in the top 4 you mention, maybe a few seconds lost or gained here and there but unless someone is sick or just has an awful day (which of course can happen) I think they will stay much the same, however I am expecting Santambrogio to go all out and maybe gain back a spot, he has shown he can climb and he is very explosive so it should suit the route today. ........but of course I am hoping for a Scarpo' move up the ranks never the less......
  12. Nice measured comment. Thumbs up from me. In my opinion no motorist ever gets up in the morning and says "I think I'll go mow down a few cyclists today" and to think along those lines, or worse, make comments like "motorists are murderers" etc as I often see is just stirring up emotions without any reason. I ride daily in some of JHB's most congested roads, 99% of the time I have absolutely no issues, its nothing but a change of mind set, treat everyone you meet as you would like to be treated, wave harassed and irritated motorists through ahead of you, and Smile, Yup Smile, at folk in the lane, its a forgotten feature among many cyclists I think,.....maybe I am just old and slow so people feel sorry for me and give me wide berth, .......but I like to think its because I treat them as equals.
  13. Indeed, this is a super team and not one of the big budget ones either, compared to big budget teams like say Radioshack they have done remarkably well, whereas RS have been dismal, snoozing in the sun at the back and looking for all like a B grade continental team, with their access to resources and knowledge they have really disappointed, seems morale is at an all time low there.
  14. Good move, Uran is wasted at Sky as he will never be more than a workhorse for Wiggins and Froome. In my opinion he is grand tour winner material and he needs to move on. Omega would be a good home as well, deep pockets, well run and well financed, I think he will do very well there.
  15. Great little team Vinni Fantini, had a good Giro as well in my opinion, Santambrogio has been an absolute revelation, who had even heard of him prior to the Giro,.......but now he is a household name.
  16. Yeah, I am feeling quite bullish about old man Boots (Scarponi), he looks really strong and focused, not that young any more either, but Yup, as strong as an ox.
  17. I have sort of been watching the tour of California, but "Oh Man" is it ever boring, - one needs to go a loooooooooooong way to beat any stage of this years Giro.
  18. Yup, been doing well. Today should be another stage for him, but I wonder if he will rest the legs a bit before the three hectic mountain stages to come and try for the final days sprint which is always very sought after.? On the other GC competitors Nibali has shown everyone a clean pair of heels, no one has put him in any kind of difficulty and he looks very much in control. Personally I doubt Cadel has the ability to gain back 1.25 on Nibali to top step on the podium unless Nibali gets sick or has a terrible day, probably I think he will just be aiming to secure his present position but, he needs to keep looking back, as he has some serious competition snapping at his heels. Scarponi and Uran will both be eyeing his spot and both are more than "adequate" in the rare mountain air. AHEM 'dale.........did you not say it would be "surprising" if Scarponi was still competitive in the final week.? Hmmmm, me thinks he is not only competitive but aggressive, he is looking for a podium spot and his best terrain is still to come.
  19. Judging by your post you appear to be pretty clued up on what to do, I think you just need some support and encouragement, I get the feeling you know changing your body composition is difficult, and like it took you years to build that muscle mass, it takes a long time to lose it as well. Theres not much else you can do in my opinion, by just not working the muscles as you are doing will slowly change the muscle size and you will lose the bulk, but you pretty much know you will never be 70 kgs, lots of cyclists are 95 kgs or even more, its definitely not unusual and in my opinion unless you are putting food on the table with your cycling, as long as you feel healthy I think its all good, some muscle is never a bad thing anyway, "string bean" is not all its cracked up to be.
  20. That part is "breaking news" I would say.! To the best of my knowledge its the first time this has been put into the public domain, at least unlike the UCI they had the morals to reject it.
  21. Aah, okay, fair enough,........ thats your take on though, my mileage differs. Sorry if I sounded irritated, I haven't had my coffee yet.!
  22. Whats a flawed premise.? I read my post 20 times, and for the life of me I see no reference to white motorists, frustrated entitled or otherwise, corruption, costs, or red tape, all I saw was an opinion that it serves no purpose "to point fingers" at some one else.! Maybe I am missing something.?
  23. Yeah, sure, I agree. The issue as I see it is really one of a starting point, accountability, here anyway, seldom happens without the threat of consequence, or in this case, prosecution for errant users, wielding the big stick in many cases does produce results.
  24. ....I dont understand. Why are you concerned about them? Surely its about you doing the right thing first.? Its easy to point at others and say "what about them" but they are not your concern, thats up to the authorities to enforce, its a defeatist attitude to say "well they dont do it so why should I" we will never get anywhere like that. Its been said a million times, Change begins with you.
  25. Indeed, with you. My thoughts are just that we are sort of looking at a chicken and an egg situation, we are saying I will do whats necessary to get home (and believe me I fully understand) and others are pointing and saying "look he broke the law". My point is really that we cant wantonly disregard laws and then expect others to not break them either, I use the example of dog licenses, my mate in Miami has three dogs, all licensed, when you ask him if its policed he will tell you NO its not, no-one is going to bang on your door and ask to see your dog license, so then you ask well why buy them? ......and he will look at you blankly and say because its the law. He never stops for a minute to think otherwise, enforced or not, he obeys the law. Were there no law to say you must license your dogs, well he wouldnt, but there is, so he does. Now replace that scene here.! We as SA citizens and I include myself, dont think like that, just read the posts, "its not going to be enforced so why bother" but that defeats the object, the object is to have a system of accountability and to adhere to that system, enforced or not. .......Please dont misunderstand what I am saying, I am all for the "getting home safe scenario" I think we all practice it daily as well to some extent, but we cant continue as loose cannons and expect the changes we desire to just happen, and having a form of licensing to show accountability and responsibility to others on the road is a good step in the right direction I think.
