  1. Looking better than earlier reports. Last year was fun in the rain
  2. awesome, looking forward to the update.
  3. Here's a cost effective option for a big sprocket on a 1x10 setup (instead of going 1x11), and not needing to downsize the front chain ring. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/oneup-components-42-tooth-sprocket-first-look-39168/ at the cost of sacrificing the 17t sprocket.
  4. I found this useful: http://www.bikeradar.com/fitness/article/take-care-of-your-knees-part-2-17445/
  5. The "can't find dustbin" comment was sarcy - 2 dustbins can clearly be seen, about 15m away - 1 brown and 1 blue.
  6. Went for an easy ride along the spruit yesterday morning and noticed a gathering of people in the Cypress walk section - a picnic or braai. Lekker spot for it. This morning, on my ride in however, this is what it looked like: http://distilleryimage6.ak.instagram.com/bbc6c4205b2111e38a29120622f885c2_8.jpg This is about 1/4 of the mess. I can only assume the rubbish was left there because the people using the park failed to locate the dustbins - the brown and blue colours camouflages them, rendering them practically invisible.
  7. what time? I ride this route 8am / 5pm when I commute, as do 1 or 2 other hubbers (who I'm yet to join)

  14. A German company has inventing a suite of combination locks to secure the most commonly stolen bike components, including wheels and seats (as apposed to securing an entire bike). http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/sphyke-c3n Quite innovative. I wonder if they come in carbon.
  15. Nicely done, great time considering how long you've been off
  16. i buy smallish things from them, they have some good deals there. Anything other than that, I go to my LBS (Morningside Cycles) and have had nothing but awesome service there.

  22. whats the range on the cassette? if you have an 11-36, you can up to an 11-38 or 11-41 and keep the 34t up front.
  23. Nice one, I got the same time, just over 3h.
  24. This is what a 30 minute break (with no actual change in altitude) can do, due to changing barometric pressures.
