  1. The cycle challenge seems.... more disorganized than usual. I sold my entries a few weeks ago, and have been hakking them to get the substitution in, I just received the following email: ---- start ---- The substitutions could not be done on time as the developers had not set up the system for the substitutions to be done before hand. There is no need to stress as the substitution may be done at Race Number Collection by the new entrants. Here is the process: The new entrant will need to go and pick up the race details of the old entrant. Once that is done, go and exchange the details at Queries. They will be seeded according to their own index and not the old entrants details. It is only an exchange of the entry and not the race number. ---- end ---- That's just bad.
  2. Reminds me of a leak-detection company's branding on Malibongwe. "Ex-spurts in leak detection". "Carpets Boyfriend likes this"
  3. every 29er rider is an expert.
  4. I just found out that one of our team members from our SF office will be headed out to this side, and was keen on a ride on Saturday morning (2nd), to experience some SA mtb'ing. I'm leaning towards taking him to VG for a chilled ride, but 1 or 2 guys from our office here reckon that he might enjoy doing the 20km down & dirty. what's the route like on the 20km? What's your thoughts on doing this vs a chilled VG ride? anyone have some pics or vids of sections on the route from previous events?
  5. +1 If you can sell your bike for around R1500, you put in another R1500 (cost of disc conversion), you can pick up a decent 2nd hand 26er for R3k (deore groupset, hydraulic brakes, tubeless, that sort of thing).
  6. true. just figured i'd hop on the ranting thread while saseeding's site was down. again. it's back up now.
  7. At least their site works.
  8. Sorry to hear about that. Money often has an inverse relationship to values.
  9. One of the reasons that I only make my classifieds visible to registered users, I'm sure there's a lot more unregistered chancers / criminals scanning the classifieds than registered.
  10. This is a lekker way to store a bike, here's 1 way of doing it: http://bikeracked.com/more-of-a-bike-hoist-how-to-make-your-own-from-my-plans-part-2/ I use a bike hook from Builders Warehouse to hang it vertically, like this: http://creaytive.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/shop_com_leonardo-bicycle-wall-storage-hook-6251931.jpg
  11. Just 1 It's an upgrade story.
  12. thank you other-captain.
  13. I assumed "hydro" was hydraulic, and then I saw something posted about "Hydro v-brakes"
  14. A mate is looking at buying a Titan Sport 26er. On the titan site, it says "TITAN HYDRO X6 D-BRAKE". Is a hydraulic or mechanical disc brake?
  15. Another "Not as hot as the others", but here's the evolution of my ride... Originally a silverback XT/SLX build up... First upgrade after a few months: fork (RS Reba) Followed a few months later by: wheelset (Am Classic)... . . . . . . . . And finally, frame (XTC composite), with a backdrop for effect... It's kinda like a pavement special.
  16. When a beauty like that has its own admiration fred, it's almost cheeky posting it in a "hot or not" fred. come on.
  17. Heyyyyyy there budddy...... :D :D How you doing??
