  3. Hi Gents I would just like to make sure that we compare apples with apples when it comes to prescription eyewear. With regards to Rudy Project prescription eyewear, the direct IMpactRX lenses have the following benefits over the conventional polycarbonate lenses- Unbreakable for life, better optical clarity, hard Coating for great scratch ressistance, wider field of view compared to conventional lenses, this is made possible by the back surface power lense(this is the secret to high base curved sport lenses). This technology is applied through our whole range of direct prescription lenses impactRX, cr 39 1.6 1.67 and polycarbonate options. Thus with Rudy project you are getting the most advanced prescription lenses available. Please send me a pm if you need any further info! We also offer more cost effective optoins. Inserts that clip into the back of the frame and we have just launched the new MAYA sport utillity frame.See the picture below:

    Sidi Ergo 3

We'll post something soon - was hoping to keep this product release a surprise For now we can confirm that the price in SA will be very competitive with CRC and most online retailers (this is our objective on all our brands). As always please consider CRC prices exclude VAT, duties (and sometimes shipping). With a bit of luck we should be one of the first countries to receive our order from Italy - samples already received for Dragon3 and Ergo3 (in size 42 only) - another couple of weeks for the balance of our order. Regards ag
  7. Supercool - great job!!
  8. Hi there, Without getting too complicated: 'Photochromic' refers to the fact that the lenses change colour when activated by UV - will go from light to dark. Photochromic clear, Photochromic red, Photochromic green, etc. refers to the base colour of the lens (before it has been activated or how it would look in the shade - in other words 'clear' goes from clear to dark grey, 'green' from green to dark green, etc. 'clear' and 'red' very nice for cyling (road and MTB). Hope that helps! Regards ag
  9. How much are you looking to spend - have some Pinarello FV1s (alu bikes not for general sale) but perhaps Michael at ASG can help you if there are some left? michael@asgworld.co.za Regards ag

  14. Hi guys, Be careful - please!! These guys (also trading as Visiondirect) is a big problem (and I am sure for many other brands). They operate from the East and are not supplied by any Rudy distributor or by head office (draw you own conclusions). We can also cannot confirm that their products are not fakes (a big problem). They list almost every single product Rudy ever made on their site and trust me no operator like this could keep all that stock (which means they try and source those 'less popular' items after receiving your order. The biggest problem is that they do not supply - we have dealt with at least 10 cases (in SA) this year of guys ordering stock and never receiving it - just search the web for example of complaints (just found this link now: http://www.epinions.com/pr-Online_Stores_Services-SmartBuy_Glasses/display_~reviews). Getting your money back is also a problem - they will try and talk you into something else if they can't get it. Remember the simple rule: 'if something is too good to be true it probably isn't' There are plenty of online grey channels to buy Rudy from - unfortunately we do not support a lot of them but at least the products are geniune (CWC, CRC, etc). We (ag) accept the challenge these legitimate guys put out there ito price and service so please do not read this as an attempt to keep you from a good deal - these guys (Smartbuyglasses) are not too be trusted based on experience and chances are you going to lose money. You will also find the following warning on most official Rudy Project sites accross the globe (this one copied from RUDY Australia) We would love to meet the 'local guy' from Smartbuyglasses dealing with Rudy orders to pass on all those complaints we've received. Regards ag eRudy Customer Service message Do not buy from “Vision Direct, Smartbuyglasses OR Omioptics Customer service is our highest priority. It has come to our attention and we have verified from our own experience that these two companies say they have Rudy’s for sale at a discount but they don’t. They will happily except your money via credit card upon you placing your order then will try and search for these products. In most cases they don't deliver and a simple extract from one of their Facebook accounts states the following - WHERE ARE MY GLASSES??? Have been waiting over a month you have said you are sorry about delays, but do you actually intend to deliver? or is this the reason you are so hard to contact?!I cant believe i have to come to facebook to send you a message!Tell me what I want to here or give me my money back. From our experience we ordered one sunglass and 5 weeks later we had still not received it plus they tried to palm us off to another brand. They are not being supplied by Rudy Project International or by any Rudy Project Distributor throughout the world. For warranty issues Rudy Project Australia will not action any warranties that have been purchased through these web sites. So in the spirit of offering you the best service we want to advise you to visit one of our dealers that are listed or purchase within erudy for 100% satisfaction and delivery within 5-7 working days and in most cases 2-3 working days.

  17. GOOD NEWS: 1. Frame will not be more expensive than DOGMA 1 Frames should retail for between R40k and R45k incl if the exchange rate holds. 2. As far as weight goes (and we have noticed several critical quotes from some of you on the issue of Pinarello DOGMA weight, R&D, etc.) we will post something soon to give more info (a lot of inaccurate information has been doing the rounds and perhaps it is time to set the record straight). An interesting initial comment is that the DOGMA bikes for GIRO came in at 6.7 (SKY) and 6.8 (Movistar) - was some of the lightest complete bikes around. Obviously all bikes have to be min 6.8 to race and these bikes could get down to that weight comfortably. Pinarello is one of the smaller players in the global market (you wouldn't say so) and have been holding there own (and some - bike of the year 4 years running in USA and Italy) against huge bike companies like GIANT, Cannondale, Specialised, etc with much bigger budgets, etc. They have been building bikes since 1922 and have an incredible history in bike manufacturing excellence. A visit to Pinarello in Treviso will make it clear in no time how much time and effort is invested in frame design and bike R&D...you don't win bike of the year against the big boys 4 years running with just nice paint jobs ...in all of this weight is only one consideration. If you had to ask Fausto Pinarello he will tell you that it is the easiest thing to build a frame that weighs nothing but he is not prepared to do that and sacrifice all the other important considerations that goes into building the 'complete racing bike' - the ultimate Pinarello challenge. Locally team Bonitas are sponsored with DOGMA's and if you speak to Magnus (team mechanic) he will tell you that the bikes go down to 6.8 easily (Super Record 11 and Bora II racing wheels). Anyways, this is always a very interesting debate and we look forward to much more of it...perhaps we need a post on what makes the perfect bike (i.e. not just weight). BAD NEWS The DOGMA2 will not be available until early 2012 Regards ag
