  1. Which flat pedal shoes are real wide and are entry level? Should be similar is size to Side dominator 5 Mega 44's.
  2. Any estimate when the next beginners class would be? 3, 4 Sept is out for me.
  3. This sorts a question I had about breakfast. Also I'm under fuelling during races. Only one gel per hours. That's less than half required. Need to take at least two per hour then.
  4. I left some skin on that decent. My fault. Have to learn how to ride those corners. Front wheel washed out.
  5. I also felt robbed. No free face cloth to wash my face. The event was great and the second half did put justice into it. My fault was I'm fat (85kg) and only had a 32x11 gearing. Ran out of gears on that long down hill drag. Doing 40km\h+ at 120rpm aint nice at all. Getting out was also not a problem for me.
  6. Being visible only helps with sober drivers. Down side is it makes you even a bigger target for the drunk drivers. They tend to drive where they look. I still choose to be visible.
  7. Should be here by midweek.
  8. Standard industrial setup. In RSA it is 25kg. Was 30kg some time ago then to 25kg and some even go down to 20kg. So anything you handle by hand cannot be heavier than that.
  9. I missed this frame by half a day. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/194813-santa-cruz-bullit-freeride-frame-set/ I'm still looking for a budget frame that at least can be pedalled without too much effort. I still have the X-Tension DH frame I bought earlier.
  10. Will this one work? DH frame! https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/195299-ghost-dh-anti-squat-2011/
  11. SAS website, under "Mountain Biking". Results are still preliminary though.
  12. Sinister plot against Santa Cruz it seems?
  13. All was nice except the finish exit. A bit slow but not that bad. Timing issue is still there. My result is missing. E-mailed SAS and waiting for a reply. Will E-mail Advendurance too just to make sure. and now the rant!!! If you cannot ride it, walk but at least give way to the people still riding!!!
  14. My FTP is 3w/kg. Max is 809W seated. But!!! I weigh in at 84kg with 33% fatness inside. Quite some improvement to be done here. Then again I was not very fit when test was done. Reasonable fit yes but very, no. I can get to 3.5w/kg with less fat.
  15. Wide bars don't always work. Second bike (me) 620mm 26" wheels. Bloke in front was not good in this narrow area and his bars caught the rock all the time.
  16. But then I see the profile map still has it on route. "Win or Swim Floating Bridge"
  17. See post number 8. from Wessel. No bridge this year.
  18. It was fun. I saw a mountain goat with a broken ankle!!!
  19. Results are updated on SAS website. Marathon shows just under 500 finishers. This event was beyond what I expected and the "Sting in the Tail" stung quite badly. Fat people (me) don't climb well. Need to get rid of that 15kg baby fat (beer).
  20. My point exactly.
  21. Something seems to be missing in the results of Marathon. Only 332 finishers? My result is missing. Registered at the event and had to go back to fetch the stickers. Person behind the desk was not that clued up at all. Looking at the Elite rider's times seemed it was pretty fast. About a 34km/h average?
  22. How would the difficulty of this route be compared to say van Gaalens?
  23. Spec sheet shows 20t.
