  1. I have the Enduro pack. most of the features are the same. I would recommend the Enduro as the 5l size is quite misleading. The pack is very sturdy and one have to pack all your equipment very carful.
  2. After some searching the net I came to the following tyre setup. DHF rear and DHR II or High Roller II front. If loose on hard pack I'll go for the High Roller II. (Haka) Another setup I like is a Vredestein Bobact at the back but does not grip as good on the front. I like their profile though. Flatter where Maxxis are more round. Suit my current riding style but this could change with time as I actually learn to ride.
  3. After having another (not) awesome off at Hakahana it made me think more about protection.
  4. It would seem that Minion DHR II's (27.5") are in short supply. Any one know who still have stock in Gauteng?
  5. Some information. https://nsmb.com/articles/rock-shox-tuning-camp/
  6. Pike RCT3 Solo Air 650b, 160mm 60psi (I think) 3 clicks LSC 12 to 14 clicks from fastest rebound +- 95kg with kit No tokens 65deg HA 2015 Nomad Using most of the travel. Will try 4 tokens with lower pressure and faster rebound next.
  7. only 10kg? You lie!
  8. I was running 1.8 bar at the rear and 1.6 front. Rear tyre got a pinch flat. Mostly ran this pressure on my old bike. Sorry. Not XC but rather XCM.
  9. I run Vredestein Bobcats. 27.5"x2.35". A DRI this weekend I learned never ever to run XC tyre pressures. 2.5 to 3 bar!!!
  10. A nice upgrade from my Super Light. Love this bike. My Enduro machine. Just needs 35mm bars and newer pedals. Magenta Palmide grips would also be nice.
  11. The Team bikes. Nice never looked better. https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-US/news/2017-enduro-world-series-hightower
  12. There are three bikes like this. Team issue paint scheme. Every one with different undertone colour.
  13. Yes!!! The fork is Rock Shok. Also with pink in it.
  14. Santa Cruz Nomad with 2015 colour scheme. Bit overkill for Enduro but what the heck. Just bought a rolling chassis anyway.
  15. Every photo in the "Trail Daze" articles. Trail Daze | Jungle Fever in the Garden Route https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/articles/routes-trails/trail-daze-jungle-fever-in-the-garden-route-r6260?source=featured Their previous articles made me do this.
  16. Saw these on Enduro MTB website.
  17. Yes!!! It was me. Total beginner. The distance down that hill was the total distance bike was ridden offroad and anything Enduro.
  18. This was my first Enduro. Pulled a nice OTB on SP5 with a spectator filming it. Well done to all!!!
  19. I'm up for this. 22nd April for me. Thaba or Hakahana is ok.
  20. It is my play thing. Want to do Enduro's with it this year but first have to learn and ride it to it's potential. Well at least sort of full potential.
  21. 1x11 gearing. The RD is a X9 10 spd and X0 shifter has a 11spd conversion from Rapide. But yes, it is wide range.
  22. Rapide dropper post & trail stem. FUNN chain guide. Magura MT-5's. 400lbs Spring from FOX. Home built front mud guard.
  23. The G-Form pads are the only ones that I could find that fits. Their large is on the brink of being too tight. One brand size "Large" I could not even get on.
  24. The power saving on the chain is only for the first 320km until the coating has worn off if I read the website correct. Dang expensive but at the top level every bit counts. Almost like a F1 car.
