  1. Just been looking at it... Interesting. A little old maybe?
  2. I actually prefer SRAM. Ride Rival on my road bike currently and love it. Please have a look at the OP... Even with duty and vat that build will be around R23k...
  3. As an importer can you make any offers at around R25k?
  4. Yeah, not getting the saddle or cages They just included them in the pricing
  5. For around R25k, my budget, I can get an amazing frameset from china with great components though... From what I've read, a lot of these chinese frames are equal to the top branded bikes (probably the same factories ) - Why pay R50-60k for a bike I can get for R25k? And on top of that have it custom sprayed? One of a kind Maybe I should wait till after Ironman when guys are gatvol of the pain and drop their bikes on the HUB???
  6. Wow! Their aero frame is well priced. Quality of the carbon? How does shipping and all that work? Thanks for the quick response Love the HUB community!
  7. Morning Hubbers! I am in the market for a TT bike, but local pricing is a little ridiculous and my budget isn't great. So I have been looking at getting a Chinese Import. Has anyone had experience with this, TT, specific? What should I and shouldn't I get. i.e, frameset, group set, wheels, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for a supplier they have dealt with previously? I'm super weary of online. potentially disastrous deals... Any help would be greatly appreciated. See the attached file for what I have found thus far. Thanks for the advice in advance! Scrumpy
  8. Or the RQC 31 - http://www.trigonsouthafrica.co.za/RoadBike.aspx
  9. Try have a look for a Trigon RQC29 - http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.com/images/bikes-and-gear/bikes/road/1298287547259-15x2l0n2tqqa9-500-70.jpg or TR004 - http://www.trigoncycles.com/product_d.php?id=225 I ride the RQC29 - it's an amazing bike and, running Sram Rival, sits at just over 7KG
  10. I don't think I'm in these lads' league. I'll be aiming for 12hours
  11. *hear...
  12. Yeah, was also tempted - problem is they have down specced quite a bit plus the wheels aren't that great. But still a good price
  13. I was 84kgs and didn't have a problem. I am now 79kgs and really don't have a problem
  14. I do. Only have one set of wheels
  15. I work in Parkmore (sandton) and travel there and back (live in Hyde Park). I do the 5pm class. Come in early on my cadence days and duck out at 4pm. Takes me 20mins through river club/bryanston
  16. Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/events/americas/ironman-70.3/world-championship.aspx#axzz2lHBUJjp3
  17. Sandton side
  18. Sounds like you're in good stead then! I'd try get some brick sessions in before the real training starts. Just 2-3km of 80% effort off the bike. Good luck man! We should do a weekend training ride sometime
  19. Thanks man! Been some seriously hard work, but well worth it!
  20. I would say start now... increase your base (I assume you are already fit as a 12 week plan isn't for beginners) over December and start the program in Jan. You should already be able to swim around 2km, bike for 3 (at a decent pace without resting) and run 15km or around an hour and a half in order for 12 weeks to be enough.
  21. @Stiffy Hey bud. I am doing 70.3, argus, two oceans and IM. I don't think your argus will be affected. Choose what your goal is and focus on that. Fit the other stuff around that
  22. Look into http://www.cadencecycling.co.za - They are in Fourways (above old cycle lab store). My wife and I have been doing it for a year now and absolutely love it (well, not during most of the sessions ). We have seen amazing results. I have increased my power output by 40% from starting. Threshold power was 235 watts and I am now at 322 watts. More importantly I started at a power to weight ratio of 2.7 watts/kg and I am now at just over 4 watts/kg. To put this into persecutive, I have taken about 48mins off my 100km bike times (road). There is also another company starting up using Watt Bikes (What the british olympic cyclists train on). They will be operating from the Dimension Data campus from next month I think. Cadence is around R600 p/m and Wattlab will be around R900 p/m. Hope this helps!
  23. Well, we generally start from Something Country (near Kloofzight). From their you can do any number of distances. Caves and back - 25km Cradle loop - 30km Caves + loop - 46.5km You don't need to be a pro or über fit to ride at the cradle! Can do as little or as much as you want
  24. I'm in Hyde Park - ride cradle most weekends. Riding MTB moddefontein this Sat and Sun at the cradle. Always space for more people! Cradle will be quiet this weekend... (no 94.7 last weekend training )
  25. I am currently running a set on my Trigon RQC 29 and love them! Been riding them for a year and absolutely no problem. Good weight and super strong
