Why should we then help so called underprivileged cyclists out of Khayalitsha and send them on fancy trips to the TdF and buy the BMX bikes. Let those grootbek Cape Hubbers sponsor them. This initiative WILL only work if the bike supported to the disadvantaged communities are strictly controlled. If the BMX's are wantonly distributed the initiative is doomed form the start!!!!!!The environment if a bike is given as a handout will be that the bike will become the property of the family head and will disappear into the survival of the family the moment the need arises.

I think this is a wonderfull initiative........ but only if it will work practically. What worries me though is that during the LOTTO handout the same thing was tried. how many of the LOTTO Raleigh RC3000's are still around and how many of those cyclists are up and coming budding new prospects????? I am sceptical of any success. Is there any guarantees that this will work????? The LOTTO Raleighs were handed out without any backup ssystem. The bikes had NO tubes, tyres, tools, brakeblocks or services included. In a community where even basic foodstuffs is difficult to supply on a daily basis, bicycle spares is VERRRRY low key. Buy the new Bicycling. They have a derraileur adjustment method that is foolproof. I use it and many of the whrenches on the big bicycle teams use it as well. It works and you wont believe how sweet your gear changes will be. Even kempekkernoglia will work properly if you use this method!!!!!!!!

They still come from the same sterile controlled environment where as above and they were also fluffy little one day old chick torn away form their mother....... hell they never even knew her and never had the natural ability to imprint. They grow up as mentally unstable chickens that is slaughtered within 35 days and are froren and in their bags within 32 minutes. My son plays Dad to 750 000 chickens on the farm he manages. Imagine how fat those dogs will get if they could find a job as security advisors.
