  1. You dont need to book your bike before hand on flysafair. Just arrive at the airport and go to the ticket sales counter with your bike, they'll invoice you the R285 then go check in with it. The ticket counter is behind the corner below the kfc. The oversize bag drop off is downstairs by the international arrivals. Make 20min extra time at the airport for this. On arrival in jhb its a lucky gamble where your bike will pop out in the baggage area. At Lanseria its a ton easier to check it in and out I travel with mine a fair amount, both local and international, and if you dont have a really good bike bag, rather use a bike cardboard box. This way you get to add a lot of kit (shoes, helmets, clothing, bottles, tools, pump etc) into the box without the weight penalty. You're allowed 23kg for the bag/box so its easy to do the maths once you know what the weight of your bag/box is. A bag will naturally take less kit due to the weight limitation You can fly locally with CO2 bombs in the bike bag if needed Happy travels

    947 Ride Joburg

Giving my tickets away if anyone needs 2 road tickets. Batch for the replacement will not stay the same as mine, so you wont be able to bounce your way from a bad seeding to a better one with these in batch R No, its not because of the poor event admin either, but I will be out of the country over the race period and therefore will not need them https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/event-entries/678057/ride-jhb-road-race-ticket-give-away

  6. We've recebtly bought a set of the Outbound lighting lights. Best in class and we ride alot of single track at night. But, it is expensive https://www.outboundlighting.com/collections/mountain-bike-lights/products/evo-downhill-package-best-bike-light
  7. Nope, Ive tried on a new Samsung Not to worry, Garmin fixed the problem
  8. This is promoted, on signboards, by the folks that manage the trails and routes. People follow these suggestions to the T. In Saffer land we have no idea about courtesy regardless of what bike we ride
  9. Greetings folks I have a Huawei GT2E watch to give away. Its in great condition and works perfectly. It has a screen protector on it which has taken some abuse (cracked and chipped) but the main screen is still in perfect condition (the garmin screen protectors fit this watch). Battery lasts about 2 weeks, and if you use the gps then about 10 days I do not have a Huawei phone anymore and the watch needs the Huawei health app to connect to the phone. Because I cannot connect it, I have no way to use the watch, no gps tracking, no time updates, nothing. It does not work with the app on another android device - Huawei phones only. So, here's the rub for me to give it away: - Huawei phone user only - collection only - I want you to show me your phone so that you can connect to it in front of me (in other words, no chancers looking for a free watch please. If its for your kid, then bring that phone with to connect it to) - I am back in the country on the 2nd October, you can collect it from me anytime after that - I am based in Jhb south - you come to me and I'll thrown in a free coffee or tea or beer - I am not posting it, please dont ask Pm me and we can make arrangements

  12. Probably because Outsurance pay 947 organizers to be there where as the rescue chaps will charge to be there
  13. Its not about the route. Its about the pro riders and the sponsors getting the exposure on telly, which is sold to the highest bidder with the spectator value thrown in for good tv coverage numbers... you just won't get that exposure in the eastern side of the western cape Its all corporate Money makes the tour go round for the overseas owners, not the general mass riders
  14. Guess what "I have for you..." Its a 142 x 12mm shaft which came off a FH M8010 part (XT 11sp hub). This is brand new I also have the old 11speed XT hub body too, but this is stuffed and needs a rebuild if you want to try mate the 2 parts together You can pm me - its your for mahala or a pay it forward sometime to someone else
  15. Willing buyer = Willing seller As noble as it is to encourage buyers to hand over goods, you're better of farting in the bath and hiding the fact that you're proud of the bubbles
  16. Whats the logo on the headtube?
