  1. That is my next goal, well done that looks awesome
  2. Our first Transbaviaans I started cycling in December when I bought my first bike, Transbaviaans was always on my bucket list, so 9 months thereafter we did it. Me and my partner crossed the finish line at 16h44min, what a awesome race. My partner already started cramping from 130km into the race and we had to stop multiple times for the cramps to subside and I was just feeding him cramp blocks, the last 30km's his cramps were gone and then it was game on again. As we saw the lights of Jeffreys bay in the far from the mountains the ice cold wind and rain started, just made the whole race a bit more difficult. Definitely next year again (I want my shield) Well done to all that finished, what a awesome experience.
  3. The weather was perfect prior to the newsletter, right after that newsletter, the heavens opened up and its been raining on and off this whole week so far, seems like its starting to clear up now but then again its raining loads in CT (and its coming this way) It will be cold and it will be wet.
  4. I'm based in George, we had lots of rain last week and some rain yesterday, the sky is filled with clouds (seems like a bit more rain) it is extremely cold at the moment. I spoke to one of the guys involved with the race and he said they dont expect rain on Saturday (but it will be very cold)
  5. Mine is also saying 20 knots for Saturday and 10 knots in the morning
  6. SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Following an extended period of unseasonally mild and settled weather over much of South Africa, conditions are expected to start deteriorating over parts of the country from today (Tuesday, August 6) on wards. A cold front accompanied by an upper air trough (characterized by stronger winds aloft and a general increase in atmospheric instability) will cause rainy, very cold and windy conditions to set in over the South-Western parts of the Western Cape. These conditions will spread rapidly to the remainder of the Western Cape, Southern parts of Northern Cape as well as the Western parts of the Eastern Cape by Tuesday evening. By tomorrow (Wednesday, August 7) the upper trough is expected to intensify into a cut-off low, slowing the eastward progress of the system across the country. Consequently, widespread showers are expected over the Western and Eastern Cape provinces. In particular, heavy falls of rain (greater than 50 mm per 24 hours) are likely along the Cape South Coast and adjacent interiors. Areas most likely to be affected are the Southern parts of the Cape Winelands, the Overberg and Eden district municipalities in the Western Cape as well as Kou-Kamma and Kouga local municipalities in the Eastern Cape. Residents in the abovementioned areas are thus alerted to the danger of flooding. Snowfalls are expected from early tomorrow morning over the South-Western mountains of the Western Cape and Northern Cape, spreading eastwards across the country to include Lesotho by Thursday. It should be noted that due to the extreme nature of this weather system, the freezing level (i.e. the lowest altitude at which sub-zero temperatures start being encountered in the atmosphere) is expected to be very low in places over the Eastern parts of the Western Cape as well as the Northern interior of the Eastern Cape. This will promote snowfalls not only over the mountains but over adjacent terrain at lower elevations as well. The public are advised that such snowfalls are highly likely to result in the temporary closure of certain mountain passes.

  12. I was also asking myself the same question. I did some bodybuilding the last couple of years (not competing) and started 2 weeks ago with mtbing weighting in at 96kg and 1.83m. Totally love it now and probably the best investment I did. Enjoy the cycling, nothing wrong with your weight.

  18. Hi guys, I don't know if this has already been discussed, or my search skills is just poor. I bought a bike recently and it was shipped to me, when I added the wheels, the disk brakes were rubbing against the rotor. From what I gather this happens when the brake lever is pulled when there is no wheel in. Is it quite simple to adjust the disk brake again? If someone has done this before can they please guide me to what to do. Thanks
  19. I need advice from the experts here on which bike between the two. Please let me know if I need to post Specs of the 2 bikes if you need it. I'm buying a bike within the next month and need to make a decision. I can get both for around R18 000 give or take. Thanks Scott Scale 940 Titan Carbon 29r Race
