  1. Fork seal.... XR was just marking its territory.... Edit: TBH I was quite stoked that there was oil in the forks!!
  2. The day I brought it home!
  3. Naaah I don't hate you.... Hate is such a strong word If I ever meet you I'll probably punch you in the mouth.... but I don't hate you.... Edit: the '84 was the first year of the RFVC motor if I recall. Yours would have had the single carb as well....?
  4. I took delivery of 1 & 3/4 1984 XR200R's a few weeks ago. One almost complete bar a side cover and a silencer. The second one mostly in a Big Jim box.... Tear down started this weekend. Not sure what direction to head in just yet but it looks like I'm leaning towards a resto project. Time (and available funds ) will tell....
  5. I still need to pop my Dexter cherry....
  6. Without having to start a new thread and along the "Up yours DSTV" line.... Firstly, apologies for the hijack.... Can someone please explain very briefly how sabnzbd works? The way I understand it is that it is a closed user group with P2P functions. Is there a monthly cost involved? What is the sport access like (if any)? I have heard that torrents are slowly becoming a thing of the past... and if the rate at which the sites are being shut down, I can believe it! Edit: Or maybe I misinterpreted what this sabnzbd is about all together and I'm on the wrong track here completely........
  7. Very observant you are...
  8. Not so much of the old man comments there skippy.... http://cdn.meme.am/instances/15443996.jpg Not sure about Wolf of Wall Street though.... I thought it went on for too long (nearly three hours....) We threw in the towel after 2 hours and finished the next evening (Purely because this old man was taught to finish what he started) Not sure I'd put it in the top 250 though. If I was forced it would be in the bottom section. I'm not a DiCaprio fan tbh. I do think he has talent. He portrayed the raw emotion well enough. He won't be the reason I queue to buy a ticket though.
  9. Watched The Wolf of Wall Street the other night as well as the latest Avengers Got a few stacked and ready to go as well: Lincoln Machine Gun Preacher Green Street 3: Never back down American Sniper I finally found a True Detective that works! Once Breaking bad is finished, True Detective is next....
  10. Thanks guys. Will have a look and see where to get them from
  11. Anybody using those stainless steel filters in their Aeropress? There are two different types and was wondering which was the better option?
  12. Usual Suspects
  13. Just finished Breaking Bad S02. Now I know what all the fuss was about... Tonight S03 begins (Well in my house anyway )
  14. Sorry to jump in here... Practice, practice, practice!! If you have the equipment, go to an engineering fabrication workshop and ask them for offcut bits of steel anything from 0,9mm to about 4mm. Get a full bottle of gas, some tungsten tips and a handful of welding wire (1,6mm should be fine) and go for it. Practice fusing plates together (lying flat) That little ball in your Argon regulator should be floating around 5-10. (When you get everything just right it will whistle while you weld ) Once you master that, try fillets and then different thickness plates. LOADS of info online as well. I just started as well and it's not as easy as they make it look in Discovery..... Oh, and make sure you cover up ALL your bits of bare skin when you TIG.... I learned the hard way..... Good luck
  15. That's the only way I'd get hooked up with DSTV again.... ^^
  16. I enjoyed that movie. A mate recommended it to me a year or two ago.
  17. Anybody looking for a Weeride Kangaroo? Really good condition with the original packaging. Please PM me if you are interested.
  18. If only we knew then what we know now.... I would have hung onto my 74 1275 Clubman, the 71 Mk1 Escort, the 76 1300 Twin Port Beetle, the 72 1300 GT Mk1 Escort....
  19. Wait..... one of these days you won't even walk down the coffee aisle in your local supermarket....
  20. I was watching one of those "reality TV" shows a few years ago and I think it was Roland Sands that had a custom pipe hand made from titanium for a 2 stroke naked racer. He was expecting to receive his pipe back with the rainbow effect around the joints from the welding.... The fabricator polished it for him..... To say that he was a bit upset is an understatement!
  21. Thoroughly enjoyed that move
  22. I realised the other day that my kids are growing up WAAAY too fast.... My little guy (OK not so little any more. He's 5 already!!) has been eyeing his big brother's old 16" "MTB" for a few months. We went through the basic 3 wheel plastic scooter, bought a Weeride Kangaroo for the bonding rides, onto the Y-bike and then the JD Bug and ended up with a 10" steelie from Checkers Hyper which served us well up until a few weeks ago. He asked to sit on the 16" bike. Well lo and behold, his feet toes just touched the ground. With a little help he was on and riding! Then he spotted his brother's 20" BMX. He asked if he could ride it and I said no chance. There is no way as his feet can't touch the floor. After much nagging and just to prove my point I said OK but assured him that it wouldn't work. Boy was I wrong......... I held the bike while he climbed on board. Seat right down, a few words of advice and a small push to get him going and he was off!!! Cruised around the driveway for a few laps and sorted! He mastered the art of sliding of the seat when he came to stop with ease. He has to get it just right though or the weight of the bike is too much to handle. Really stoked to see how well he is doing. Asking me to build him some jumps already. I have a little skills loop planned for around the garden already He has never used a set of training wheels. The scooter gave him confidence, the Y Bike started the balance learning curve, the JD Bug sharpened those skills and then all we had to do was explain the pedaling action to him when he got the 10". One or two pushed on his pedal bike and by the end of the day he was pedaling on his own.
  23. Bad news.... Just chatted to a mate that is up at Saddle and Trout and the water level in the dam is down by about 1,5m..... Wading through the mud to get close enough to cast.... Might need a cheap pair of takkies for the next week....
  24. Headed to Saddle and Trout on Boxing day. Fished there last year and had reasonable success. Going back this year hoping to catch the same buggers only a bit more grown up... Mainly targeting bass in the big dam next to the road. Flogged the small dam after being told there were fish.... not a single bite. We'll try again this year!
  25. Just finished Ray Donovan S02 and started The Blacklist the other night. So far so good.
