  1. Just shows the ability SA has. Kudos!
  2. Spoke to Graham Ward who is on the WP committee. At this time there will be no TT in March that coincides with the road race. There may be one later on in the year which will form part of an Autumn/Winter league, if they are held at all. Pity... :-(
  3. Also trying to find out about the WP dates. There is always a TT every year since i can remember so assume there will be one towards the end of March. That's the usual time frame. Will post info if i get it.
  4. Go IS/DD!!! Power partner. :-)
  5. Awesome racing today and a well deserved win for Joshua in CAT3 having been in the break for most of the race. Kids got great fight in him. Kudos to Eugene and Graham doing an excellent job organizing these events. Looking forward to the next event although I'm going up a CAT. It's going to hurt.... :-(
  6. Why are so many people surprised? Nearly every single sport whether professional or not has an element of doping. Clean sport ended a LOOOOOONG time ago. Every single top athlete in the world does some form or doping to assist with recovery or to boost performance or both. Accept it and move on.
  7. See my reply to Garfield2010. Cost around R500 from Sportmans Warehouse or try www.nivo.co.za
  8. Get the Suunto Movestick. I read the DC Rainmaker review and got one. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/02/much-better-usb-ant-stick-for-your.html Works like a charm once you get it the drivers installed. Was a bit of a pain with Windows 7. On one laptop it installed immediately with now hassls but on my spare laptop it took a while to sort it out. Think it was more user error...
  9. I don't want to agree for obvious reasons but having recently signed with TrainerRoad.com it is amazing how effective indoor training with structure has become. Really impressed with what you can do indoors nowadays. Also with crime levels and crazy drivers on the road it makes more and more sense.
  10. Of course. With the spotlight on Team Sky once one of their riders have been found with irregular blood values they are obviously concerned that the UCI would then be looking at other members. Anyone with half a brain knows doping is still very much part of pro cycling. How and what they are doing is still up for debate but unquestionably it is happening. Sky like most of the major teams know people would love to catch them out for doping so they counter with dodgy stories about fake illness and injuries to manage their riders "performance" in and out of competition when the heat is on. And before anyone starts flaming me about how cycling has cleaned up its act and that Sky is clean you seriously need to accept the fact that doping is and will always be part of pro cycling and every other professional sport. Not one of the top GC riders are clean. No I can't prove it and never will be able to but if you've been around cycling for long enough you know hard truth about what is going on behind the scenes. Just enjoy the spectacle.
  11. No, No, No.... These guys have it all wrong. I actually hold the record. Here's concrete proof from Strava!
  12. If i knew that i would of taken on the day... Jokes...
  13. I started coming to down with mild flu on the Saturday before the Argus this year and dosed up on Corenza C the entire day (5 tablets in total), which has Aspirin. Did my best time yet.... 2.54 out of C group. Don't think it has any affect on performance. Possibly the opposite...

    Argus 2014

That was me ;-) Wez-O your crash looked like a movie stunt. Quite spectacular! It was difficult to process what i had just seen. Glad you are OK.
  15. That's some scary sh%t! I was out at that exact time and that is my route most mornings. F%cking scum!
  16. I think the garmin pedals will be the best choice. Hopefully there is no glitches but if there are they will be sorted soon enough being garmin. So easy to use and can swap to any bike. That's the winner for me.
  17. The differences are minuscule. You just need something that is constant. Hub technology is very accurate. Powertap being the best.
  18. Crank obviously! So you can change wheelsets for training and racing and then still use your power meter. It's good to view your numbers post race in comparison to just training with it. The only concern for some people is the financial aspect. Hub is a cheaper option. It you can afford it go with a crank option.
  19. E-commerce in SA is still a very immature market because of a number of factors .ie expensive bandwidth and related IT services which is drastically improving now, but another factor is that most businesses have had it easy with potntial clients having to come to them due to this exact issue. Now that they face more international and local competition their mindset is changing fast. If a company does not have a good web presence most people nowadays question their business for obvious reasons. I'm glad to see things are improving but we have a very long way to go still.
  20. The reason for the delay is probably because of today's race. Will load both sets of results at once.
  21. No one is complaining about route otherwise very few people would attend. Its the blatant disorganization from the PPA which has become the norm so no one complains. I'm not expecting full on road works but how much effort would it take to fill the really large potholes on the route which clearly can do some damage. You dont even need tar, but some hard clay of sorts just for the race weekend. Maybe my standards and expectations are too high......
  22. Agree with you 100% on this. Anyone who has raced Worcestor before is aware of risks you take riding over the gravel section but all the farking potholes before and after are not accpetable. As race organizers PPA have a reponsibility to make sure the racing conditions are safe all riders. I woke up at 4am to make this race only to hit a huge pothole before the gravel section and lost my group so my race was over. There were 2 other casualties in front of me from the same pothole so its not like i was not watching where is was going. I'll be phoning them tomorrow for there views, but i'm sure i'll get the same old answer that its not there repsonsibilty to fix the roads... Yeah but its easy to take peoples money for sub standard racing conditions. My 2 cents.
  23. Scotts Scale is the best hardtail MTB. End of discussion.
