  1. Thanks, in all honesty, I was just lazy. But I googled it and I now know exactly where it is. Will definitely go check it out soon.
  2. Ah, bit far for a lunchtime ride, did big red barn this am though. Will check out Rietvlei over a weekend. It looks nice. How far South of Joburg, cause technically Tokai is also south of joburg
  3. Where is that?
  4. Hi guys, and girls A group of about 20 highschool students will be cycling from Pretoria to Richards Bay from the 2nd to the 8th of April to raise funds for a nursery school to be built in Botswana during the July school holidays. The settlement where the school will be built is called Khawa and poverty is among others a huge problem. According to the primary school headmistress kids who attended a nursery school commonly fair better at primary and highschool level and as such is less likely to fall back into the vicious circle of poverty. The group still needs a bus however as they will only be cycling in groups of four. If anybody knows somebody in the transport industry willing to help out or if you want to make a financial donation please let me know. Thanks!
  5. Rotary Swiss Commando (needs a battery) Fossil Speedway Ti And the cheapest polar HRM (Can't remember which one)
  6. I totally agree but unfortunately "you should have known" probably won't hold up in court. Technically they didn't do anything wrong. Morally, well that's a different story.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the sale made when the UN still recognised the libyan government as legal and legitimate. According to arms trade laws they can't sell weapons to states engaged in repression, aggression or terrorism. At the time of the sale I don't think Libya was seen as such. If a legal government decides to use it in the way that they did, surely the supplier can't be blamed? I'm not saying you are wrong, just like I'm not saying I'm right because I'm not at all sure about the facts. http://www8.effectivemeasure.net/img.gif
  8. www.beginnertriathlete.com has two "couch-to-5k" programs. A conservative one and a slightly more aggresive one. Even though you are not literally coming off the couch I would still suggest following one of these as it gets your body used to the impact etc.
  9. Was also having a look at that, Silverback Strela 1.0 = 8.6kg = R10k, Silverback Strela Concept = 8.4kg = R14k. R4k price difference, same components, only difference is the Concept is carbon. I've never ridden a carbon bike so can't comment on ride quality etc but I'm not spending R4k for 200g. Thats just ridiculous.

  12. I haven't been looking for very long but this seems to be the best deal I could find. I don't really want to buy 2nd hand, I know it's dumb but there's just something about a new bike. Almost like that new car smell.
  13. Hi all, I've recently decided to buy a road bike (yes, I'll keep the mtb). Unfortunately I know even less about road bikes and components etc than I do about mountainbikes. Would this be considered a good deal and if not, what else can I have a look at? Budget around R10k. Thanks! 18. I think it would have been funnier if I understood them, but it's funny enough like this. Watched it 4-5 times and kept laughing.
  19. Royal Mail is counter to counter, took about 2 weeks from shipment till notice.
  20. Jacaranda Children's Home has a proper cycling squad, the head of the house is a cyclist and he started cycling with some of the "problem kid's" to give them something constructive to do, they now have a team taking part in races etc. They would definitely use it. I can put you in touch with the right people if you want.
  21. Been using this for a while now, really is very usefull but for some reason I can't delete any entries from the "plan" tab? Also would it be possible to automatically delete a plan when moved to log? I realise that you would not always want this but maybe just a check box option type of thing?
