  1. Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons, there is nothing cooler
  2. Hey, can't comment on the non-UST on UST rims as I'm not running tubeless (yet! ). I have the Kenda Karma foldables (front and back) and I'm very impressed with them on dry hardpack. Quick rolling but with enough grip. I normally ride at Groenkloof and they haven't dissapointed me yet. Not great when it's wet though.
  3. You'll be fine with cleats, cycled there on friday. It's wet but all perfectly rideable If you struggle to clip in/out just clean your cleats by rubbing on the grass or something. On the other hand, if your feet don't touch the ground, they can't get dirty!
  4. Hi guys, This not necessarily only for the unemployed hubbers but anyone wanting to make a little something extra each month. My mother owns an estate agency in PTA doing mainly rentals. They have been in business for over 20 years. They are trying to get more properties on their books so if you know of someone who wants to let their house/flat in Pretoria please PM me. For the duration of the contract signed you wil then get 30% of the commission (ie if the house goes for R9000pm, the agency takes R900 of which you will get R270 each month.) They are also looking for 1 or 2 fulltime agents who will mainly focus on sales. If anyones interested please give me a shout!
  5. Hijacking my own thread. . . Hey Paul, how do you bleed the Avid brakes, did you buy the kit?
  6. Ok, so it seems I might be missing something Will go check it out!
  7. I now this is kinda illegal (kinda ). A friend of mine took his guitar case with an old guitar with him overseas and declared his guitar. He bought a new one there, popped it in the case, tossed the old one and brought it back. Duty-free
  8. Now that I put in my shirt pocket, need to be able to reach it while riding All the rest goes in the saddle bag!
  9. I also have the Karma 2.1, very happy thus far
  10. Any info?
  11. I got one yesterday, well a parking fine, for parking in front of, wait for it, a gate thats been welded shut for the last 3 years with a flowerbed on the other side of the gate. But in their defence, there was a no stopping sign. Everybody on campus just knows that gate isn't in use anymore so we can park there. Bloody ridiculous if you ask me!
  12. I have never been to any of the other bike parts in and around gauteng so I was wondering how does Groenkloof compare to them? 1. Is it worth the drive? (I live right next to Groenies) 2. Technicality, I've heard that some of the other parks mark their trails by colour-coding them, what colour would groenkloofs technical pieces be? (Singletrack up from Nelson Mandela (R21) by the now chopped-down big tree (on the Monument Park side), singletrack along Botha ave etc.) 3. Price Any feedback would be appreciated, looking for something new to do over the weekend.
  13. How the hell am I supposed to reverse then!?
  14. How any cyclist survives without the Hub is beyond me. Thanx guys, problem sorted. Cones where too tight!
  15. Nope, Shimano
  16. Thanks for the replies guys, I will try all the above mentioned. Capricorn, it's exactly the same as you described, did you manage to sort it out? The cones might be too tight, recently repacked the bearings in the rear hub, but it was happening before that. Thats why I did it. Will check it out.
  17. My petrol money is definately going to be more than that
  18. I'm at a loss, I don't know how to sort this out or even whats wrong. When I back pedal, my freewheel won't turn. It turns a bit and then snags and then turns a bit and snags again. Coasting is fine, turning the freewheel by hand is fine, normal pedalling is fine. Actually, riding is fine, but this bothers me. So I figure it's either something wrong with the freewheel (which I don't know how to fix) or there's something wrong with the rear derrailleur (which shifts marvelously). Any ideas/advice?
  19. Pay me petrol money and I'll bring it, been wanting to visit a couple of mates down there.
  20. My brother in law loves his car, Audi A6, but during the week he drives the 1.4 Polo and my sister drives the Audi with the kids. Just makes more sense.
  21. Haha, I forgot about that theory. It rocked to turn invisible when you closed your eyes!
  22. In Germany I stayed with a US army guy for a while, he was posted there, they have what he calls the "zipper-system". It works like a zipper, obviously. They merge, at speed (autobahn). Almost like what we are supposed to do when lanes merge, let one go through from one lane then the other etc. Seemed to be working quite well, traffic seemed to be less congested.
  23. They probably would with mine, but my cables go on top.
  24. Greedy. . . tsk tsk tsk. A Cessna will do fine thanks
  25. Was wondering exactly the same thing
