  3. Also bored... so have arranged to take a customer for a pub lunch... leaving now now. That should get a few heated responses
  4. Absolutely ewep, it is a classic sign of road rage... And it is a fight a cyclist is unlikely to win
  5. Have also been known to throw a water bottle at a car, and even my keys once, realised what I was doing and managed to stop the throw, but then dropped them and had to turn a round kinda took the wind out of my sails.. HOWEVER My fear is that the hotheaded response pushes the motorists, and those in the vicinity (who may not have seen the initial offence) into the waiting arms of halfwits like Mr/Ms De Beer.... I try to make my point by shaking my head or shrugging my shoulders as if to say 'thanks dude, nice one' (not much use of you're in a crumpled heap in a ditch I know) and hope that he will be just alittle bit embarrassed and try harder to avoid the next cyclist... Maybe the moral high ground is a better place. On the other hand maybe I should stop smoking my socks and buy a gun
  6. Wonder if there's any way of posting this on his 'group'? Global domination by Cyclists! Yeehaw Paris - The city of light has put the wheels in motion for more eco-friendly transport when more than 10 000 gleaming grey bicycles went up for rental at hundreds of stations across the city. The mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoe, unveiled the bicycle rental scheme to encourage residents and tourists to pedal their way along the Seine, past the Louvre and around the Eiffel Tower, cutting back traffic and reducing pollution. The new service called Velib will "bring to Paris lovers a bit more air, a bit more innovation and as its name suggests, a lot more liberty," Delanoe said at a ceremony to launch the scheme. Velib, a contraction of the French words "velo" (bike) and "liberte" (freedom), is modelled on a successful scheme in the city of Lyon run by advertising giant JC Decaux. Paris is joining such European cities as Barcelona, Geneva, Stockholm, Oslo and Vienna that offer bicycle rental to try to reduce the number of cars in big cities, improve air quality and provide a fun alternative to the metro.

  10. Most clubs are cool with out of town'ers joining them and are quite welcoming. Oh, and no, there is no cost. Just let someone know, preferably a marshall, that you are joining them. That way they know you are part of the group and will wait for you and support you in case of mechanicals etc. If you are wearing a different kit they may not all know you are part of the group, particularly if there are a lot of riders out.
  11. Never mind, just noticed Klapperknop beat me to it....
  12. Robbie's going to have to be on the ball if he's to be the top sprinter in this team! Seems to me they're hedging their bets over at Barloworld?

  16. Yes, please do, if you consider the sheer scale of the event, not just in terms of numbers but in geographic terms then the organization is nothing short of phenomenal. Hats off to them I say.
