  2. Between 60-70km mark into a 100km race. Else basic nutrition would surfice. On a training ride with a perceived exersion is 8 on a scale of 1-10... I'd do 100km without an gels.
  3. How about half a gatsby..... now thats just filled with calories to burn off.
  4. Like yooorrrrr! I remember those days. Hanging on the back of a bus on your skateboard.... the "Wobble" - vrek scary, but yet we did it again.
  5. So typical. If someone is pointing out a wrong, then half the world thinks his crazy. Cant you just admit that these guys are NOT abiding.... as apposesd to shifing the focus on why we should not be riding in single file. Take a good look at the pic..... There's no road shoulder.
  6. Some of the guys joke and think it's nothing to ride side by side.... But just yesterday, while driving down Voortrekker Rd in CT, I saw cyclist covered with a white, blood stained sheet. He died on impact by the looks of it. Cops were diverting cars around the body. Whether OP's was wrong or right, a little common sense goes a long way.
  7. I can concur with Shaartjie. We rode down that way on Sunday. The police were physically removng the bergies. Sad faced and all, they had to pack up and leave
  8. Scwheet... I'll take on the 46km this year... I think it's the week before the One Tonner
  9. Something doesnt quite gel, so we'll have to wait and see. Seems to me the monthly seeding run mysteriously took place... Darn Gremlins???
  10. 2hrs+ on an IDT...like yoooooorrrr! The max time I spend on an IDT is 1hr, else its 40-45mins which mainly for intervals or recovery. Personally, for Hill training, I'd go to the Hills/up the mountain. No simulation beats that.....
  11. If you're getting a Foil, please get another and post it to me. Been riding a CR1 for 2 years now and itching to upgrade my frame to the Foil.
  12. I second this....a little bit of hard work never hurt anyone.....ie, if its done the correct way.
  13. I second that...

  18. Like yooooor! Same in Group I. It seems as if there are guys with a death wish. And it wasnt just the younger crowd, it was more the experienced older guys....(some of which were league riders)....
  19. Hi Tightfitt, You mention Family life, kids bla, bla, bla. What time do you go to bed at night.... I for one struggle. With a 3year old and 4month old it's not easy. So on occasion's I train in the afternoon. And take power naps when I can. So how do you do it? What's your day like?
  20. Fully Agreed. Life goes on.
  21. RIP, ADT cyclist BUD.
  22. Nurge - Are you from the southern suburbs? If you are, where will you be waiting?
  23. What happend.... happend. And you cannot change that. I for one of many had good service from CWC. I would have been in your/her best interest to test the bike out before going out that far. Anyways, everyone learns...
  24. I might meet up with you guys in Claremont... Sounds lekker.
  25. Thanx for the input all. It's appreciated.
