  1. Because its a Supersonic, which means that pretty soon you will be riding on the rim.
  2. Yes, that's non UST/tubeless. JasonW2009-10-27 07:20:15
  3. Small Block 8s in 1.95 are 420g a tyre. Great in the dry and fairly robust. Bad on wet roots and rocks, but not as bad as you might think in the mud. Otherwise for your conditions non-UST Maxxis Crossmarks are probably your best bet. They are about 550g.
  4. When you plug the 705 in, it should be refelcted as a seperate drive on your PC. Open the History folder. Drag (or copy & paste) the file onto Training peaks. A dialogue box will open which then allows you to save the file. As far as I know this is the only way to do it!
  5. In my opinion, still the best value around! Good luck Mountain Lion!
  6. Glad to hear someone else did Eselfontein. I've done it 5 or 6 times now and I think it rates as one of the best in the country! I've converted both Mimo's and Monorails to tubeless without any problems. personally I don't like the Mimo's very much and I seem to recall that they weren't as light as Maxxis advertise either. Monorails are good, otherwise try folding Crossmarks or Spez Fastracks. The folding Kenda SB Eights are tougher then they look, but are sketchy in the loose stuff.
  7. JasonW' date=' it looks like the inside of the crank so it should be safer. In any case, where is the non-vulnerable area on a MTB?[/quote'] The Hub and BB are probably the best solution. My MTB powertap has been fine thus far aside from the bearings.
  8. Thanks Mampara, haven't seen one of these before. I guess the qeustion I'm asking is whether the flex of the stay behaves in the same way to the rotation of the bottom pivot.
  9. Go Lefty, out of interest, why would you prefer the Morewood to the Scalpel. Does the lack of a proper lower pivot point on the Scalpel constitute a disadvantage? I ask because no other manufacturer has gone the flexable chain stay route, and Cannondale do not use this on their marathon spec bikes such as the Ruch and Rize.
  10. Sounds great. Hope they can get the wireless licencing issues sorted out a bit quicker than the Quarq. My main reservation is that the end of the crank is a very vulnerable area for damage. Very bad idea for MTB!
  11. I've had no problems with either my 305 or my 705. Agree with lefty's recommendation of the 705. The 705 also integrates very well with Powertap hubs, so you get all the data you could possibly want!
  12. Sorry, here's the pic! More at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10285149@N07/sets/72157621124203304/
  13. It can also be done completely off road as well. The Malucene side is the same average gradient as the Bedoin side, but I think the gradient is more variable.

    BB30

I know Cannondale often bundle their BB30 cranks with the frame and you can often pick up some pretty good deals.
  15. In my opinion there is little if any benefit to the RP23 as the extra adjustability is pointless in the real world. The RP2 is the same shock only you don't get the little 3-way dial.
  16. I've just spent 6 weeks in France in the Alps and Provence areas. ?Morzine and Les Gets are highly over rated and will probably still be quite busy. To get the best MTB rides you should probably try and hook up with a local guide. If you plan on doing it yourself you should get the local IGN 1:25000 maps. ?In France you can MTB on most of the walking paths and there are a lot! The tourist office in each town is actually very helpful and you can normally get MTB maps. One area that is fairly unknown is the Vercors (just outside Grenoble) really good road cycling and over 250kms of MTB trail. I've posetd some of my photos on my flickr account:
  17. I like mdk's idea. Would make for a cool event.
  18. It could possibly also be made part of the Dirtopia festival. I think a dedicated winter event is just too much risk for the organisers as doing a 24-hour in the rain is quite bleak!
  19. what sort of weight are they claiming for the G5 frame?
  20. It really depends what type of racing you intend doing. If you want to mainly do marathon or multi stage then go for the anthem. If you mainly want to do XC races of shorter events then get the XTC.
  21. Contador is 62 kgs at 1.76m. His bike is profiled on www.bikeradar.com
  22. Although I would assume that on the flat sections weight is less of a factor, and absolute power more so?
  23. Even more impressive when you see his IF values for the previous stages
  24. Nice review on http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/?pg=fullstory&id=6991&status=True&catname=Latest%20News Assuming you need a new crankset, this seems to be a very good alternative pricewise to Powertap. Does anybody have any plans to import them here?
  25. I've also seen ODI Ruffians in short length if you prefer a lock on grip
