  1. Matt11 What route do you have in mind? Heading out with Atterbury towards Tierpoort or closer to the Lynwood/Boschkop area?
  2. Glad we found the owner of the buckled wheel Consider it done. I will try and get some pictures when I'm out and about on those Boschkop trails If anybody is keen to join me this coming Saturday morning let me know as I promise not to ride the single track slow
  3. Was nie my wiel nie maar ek het iemand gehelp met n wiel wat "gebuckle" was
  4. My bike is a tank especially with 2kg's of mud caked onto it The only issue I had was trying to pedal up those hills on my way home. My legs were jelly
  5. Will definitely be heading out there again this coming weekend to see what I can find My apologies for leaving the pack behind but I had to put the power down as I had certain "obligations" that needed to be honoured Issue with wheel?
  6. A big shout out to MONS for making sure everyone is having fun and S.I.R Maxxis for organizing this Thanks to all that came out and got a bit dirty I for one had a blast and will definitely be going out more that way as the old Boschkop track needs some more exploration
  7. Well I have organized some energy for those in need during this event
  8. Easy with your next CRC order just add 1lt of Shimano's mineral oil. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=5620 Enough to last a lifetime and the end to the headache of trying to get support locally If you need the mineral oil urgently pm me so that I can give you some
  9. Nice vid
  10. Erm you forgot to add that Chain Reactions website should be avoided
  11. Life is to short to worry about what he or she rides/can afford. Buy what you feel confortable with and ride that bike hard Make the most of every pedal because before you know it you're sitting on the porch at the retirement village looking back at all the good times
  12. Never jumped onto an airbag but some years ago I jumped into a foam pit. Oodles of fun but trying to get out was an absolute ball ache and you got covered in small pieces of foam which made you itch
  13. The idea is spot on and could turn out to be a lot of fun Implementing it anywhere along the spruit is just looking for issues. Patches we really need to organise a airbag jump session and then invite all to come and join in on the fun that will ensue
  14. If you can afford nothing else but for two items I would recommend http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=10226 Bike stand. I hang my +/-20kg downhill bike on one of these exact models and it works a treat. Merely for the sake of getting the bike off the ground and being able to stand up straight when working on a bike makes it worthwhile. http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=15443 A good multi tool. Don't skimp on tools as in the long run you will only have to replace the bent/broken/rounded tools with the ones you should have bought the first time round and after the fact that you stripped half of the bolts on your bike. All other tools are nice to have's (Edit: Font Size)
  15. Erm the Intense 6.6 frame you're riding was designed as a long travel AM bike. Doing these types of drops on it is surely going to ovalize a pivot. I would recommend you rather get a hack bike to ride(drop off) said obstacles
  16. But don't you then think this is rather a case of mis information by the manufacturer? Also did you then have to by a semi-integrated headset only to bin the cups and only use the race's and bearings?
  17. You wore down that washer? Or did you just lose it again?
  18. I have a race setting tool as well so no need to go buy a piece of pipe
  19. This is HUGE!
  20. Just extending a willing hand to assist Below a few examples where I really would like to see you install the cups with your fingers http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=39377 http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=18084 http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=39383 http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=69904 http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=62140 (edit spelling)
  21. Agree with S.I.R. Maxxis 100% If you are in the PTA East area and need to install the cups you are more than welcome to use my headset press Just PM me
  22. Well I have only ridden the bike once but my first take is that all this talk about it being twitchy is what really makes it so much fun to ride. Like someone else said on here it is how you ride it and I must be honest in also stating that the Uzzi was designed around a 170mm travel fork and I'm running 180mm (So take my opinion regarding this with a pinch of salt) Squirrely outback? The chain stay on the Uzzi feels relatively short and makes picking up the front wheel a breeze. Flexi rear? Definitely can't feel it when riding and I have seen quite a few newer dh bikes with more flex in the rear than the Uzzi. Oh and currently this bike is running the 135mm dropouts but I have managed to score some 150mm dropouts from Winstanleys for cheap. This should stiffen up the rear even more. Cramped? I come from a BMX background so anything with a top tube of 20.75inches or more is HUGE. I prefer a bike that is small and nibble but so far so good. On the first outing I pedal'd to the local dj's(2m - 3m gap doubles) and I can confirm that this bike begs to be airborne. Stable as a Boeing 777 while being aloft and the suspension ramped up rather nicely when hitting the lips. I can really see myself using this bike from just pedalling it down the road, all day long pedals at VG to some DH action. Only time will tell and once I'm past the honeymoon stage I will revert with a proper review.
  23. I also can't get use to big frames and taking into consideration all my other bikes this is huge If anybody has a set of 150mm dropouts they have lying about for the Intense I want it. Just checked on CRC and the cost is R1500 per dropout
  24. Thanks Patches for telling me about this Uzzi that was on sale here on The Hub Here she is, not completely finished and still awaiting a couple of bits and bobs. Took her out yesterday and man what a bike
