  1. The only problem I have about using tissues is that when they are all snotty in your back pocket they don't dry out because they keep absorbing your sweat. So when you reach into your back pocket looking for a gel and you find something soft and squishy you pull it out and without looking atttempt to bite the corner off......
  2. And which army are they going to face?...........Schalk Burger?
  3. I've got a Selle Italia SLR gel with carbon base and it rides like a dream. Choosing a saddle is like choosing a girlfriend.....do you go for comfort or or the hardest ride of your life?
  4. I am with Santam. I had a claim with them last year for damges and they payed out within a week. I would definitely give them a try. I have my house contents and cars insured with them also, so I get a better rate for my bike than what cyclesure or any other insurance company that specialises in bicycle insurance could give me.
  5. I never take a spare tubby with on a race. I use slime in my tubbies. Have you ever tried to get a tubby off the rim after 100km when your hands are tired and you can don't have the moaral and energy to go to all the effort because you know you are going to loose at least 20min. Then there is the story of the glue....on the fingers and gloves....on the clothes....all over the bike.... If I get a puncture then I just climb on the sweep vehicle. At least slime reduces the chances of getting a flat and it has to be really bad to get a total flat.
  6. They do weigh 1150 grams. You won't get a better deal where price versus weight is concerned. They are actually lighter than Zipp 404's!
  7. I have a set of AC Carbons. They ride like a dream and are very comfortable. I have not had any problems up to now with broken spokes or the carbon starting to disintergrate or delaminate. They are a good alternative to ZIPP 404's, and at a 6K price diff definitely worth it. You won't be sorry!
  8. I don't mind paying my licence fees every year. I just hope it isn't going to be used to pay some high ranking official a 30 MIL bonus at the end of the year for doing nothing like they do in the soccer fraternity!!!!!
  9. I agree Mampara. FSA is the same. Some of their Alu components are lighter than their carbon counterparts
  10. Swissvan Do they have an english webpage?
  11. Can we maybe get a list of online shops with url's on this site?
  12. In a few years time a guy can't lie about the age of the bike. You just cut through the frame and count the number of rings!
  13. If a person is going to fall with this bike, do yhey have to shout TIMBER!!!
  14. people who complain here get chopped off at the knees
  15. No, not bored.....Just shaking the tree to see what will fall out
  16. After riding this plank I won't have a log in my eye so I won't be able to see the splinter in someone else' eye
  17. Thanks Marius
  18. Distance 60km; time 09:00. No timing and pick-a-medal
  19. $@!*...Thanks. it looks like I will have to start hubbing then!!!
  20. How do I upload a pic into my topic?
  21. Kona Then you are defininately not a salesman!
  22. Bee Polar sets the price on their products, and it doesn't matter whether you buy at Totalsports or anywhere else. The price is the same
  23. Bonduhboy Functionality is sometimes more impotant than looks or colour. Once you explain to your gf what all it can do then I'm sure she won't worry about the colour. When I bought my 725X i was lucky that the carbon fibre look on the face matched my carbon HB, so I didn't have to worry about that too. LOL
  24. What is the price difference?
  25. I have a set of 540's and have been riding them for about 3 years now and have had only 1 broken spoke and been trued only once. When I bought them i was told there was a 75kg limit due to the spoke configuration and amount of spokes. Besides the bearings not being of the best quality and need to be serviced regularly and the extra flex while standing and sprinting I am happy with the overall performance and quality of my set up to now. It was not a bad buy for the price at the time. I paid 1.6k for mine
