  1. Big H i had a rear tubby blow out on me before which had slime in....I know the mess it can make
  2. I want try the tubeless conversion on my road bike too...Just 1 question: When the tyres are worn have to be replaced, how much of a mess is it when the tyre is removed and how difficult is it to clean the rim up for the new tyre?
  3. I always ride with an Ultegra cassette on my Dura groupset. The Ultegra is much harder wearing and doesn't wear out as quickly as the Dura Ace.
  4. So who has a fool proof system to replace / adjust cleats, Look Keo in particular, must be suitable for a Type A human? Swissvan what I do is to glue a piece of fine sandpaper under the cleat. Then put all the screws in lightly and position the cleat in its place. Then I tighten each screw a little bit at a time. If you tighten 1 screw completely and then the next, the screwheads grip the cleat and twist it. if you tighten each screw a little bit at a time then the pressure is taken up gradually by each screw and the cleat cant slide around.
  5. Why ride under the carpet with a felt when you can ride over it with an Eddymerckx. I won't ride any else again
  6. Sequoia you can leave the spacer out but then you have to use the mechanics rule of thumb when it comes to tightening....Strip and half-a-turn back
  7. I bought the entire DA groupset last year and my wife didn't even know the difference. I just had to keep the credit card bills hidden away for a few months.
  8. Do what I do when people ride like that....Pull up next to them, roll down your window and ask them politely to ride in single file and on the shoulder of the road. If they start giving you hassles then start to move your car over to the left and force them on to the shoulder.......Make their swearing and cussing worth the while, at least you won't get any fingers because they will be too busy trying to keep from going under your wheels It will make them think twice the next time before they start swearing at motorists when they are actually the idiots!
  9. Did they cross the white line too?
  10. It's for 2x complete pulleys. Ready to be installed. That is cheap considering what you pay for a set of Dura Ace pulleys. Do they have ceramic bearings in all of them?
  11. I wonder how he is going to explain that tread pattern down his face at the office on Monday morning?
  12. It must be the end of the year...The people are running out of ideas for topics It has been a long busy year on the Hub
  13. The difference between polar and and other computers is that polar is completely wireless. With normal computers you have a contact area where the computers fits into the bracket and when it rains then the contacts get wet and you have a bad connection which results in inaccurate readings. The only problem i foresee is that if you are doing mountain biking and you have mud buildup on the sensor it might not work so wellSpeed Devil2007-12-10 07:38:43
  14. Are these the 16 spoke rims mbaymike?
  15. I don't think cycle events knows about a watch ot calender. they still work in ages...ice age...stone age...cycle events age... I can't remember when they ever got a set of race results up in less then 3 months afeter the completion of a race....1 MONTH! gmffffff!!!!
  16. Did you cross the white line racman
  17. I doubt it is the paint, unless they painted it on with a brush to get it super thick. i suggest you first get the frame to your LBS and check the tube diameter with a vernier.
  18. I have been using a mixture of parafin and diesel for years without hassles. I first clean the chain in it and then put it in a fresh solution and leave for a while for the diesel to get insde the links and pins and then when the chain is on I coat it with Squirt. Unfortunately the squirt is too thick to penetrate deep in between the links and pins.
  19. BB what does Cycleart charge more-or-less for a make over. I'm thinking of having my Merckx redone. These guys seem to know what they're doing!
  20. It is people like this that give the whole cycling fraternity a bad name. While some of us are trying really hard to promote the sport and keep it "clean" there are others that just don't give a damn and think that the roads, sidewalks and bike paths belong to them. They should be banned totally from the sport and be forced to take up another pastime...maybe pocket billiards...that will be the closest they come to playing sport after I'm finished with them!
  21. If I trained hard for a race and had to travel 100km to get there and discover that I forgot my shoes at home I would definitely borrow a pair of shoes if it was offered. I would then rush home after the race, stop at the chemist and get some lamisil and foot powder and then straight into a bath. Some things are are just worth the risk.
