It takes me back a few months ago when another online store in SA started his online sales and the next moment used our name on google to link to their website. We are human and no one is perfect. Thanks for bringing it under my attention. Without your complains we will not know what we doing wrong. Sorry to all our naked riders. We cant give you any specials on these naked clothing. We do not want to sell everything on the market and therefor we are giving our opposition the gab to sell something as well.

Thank you for all the support on this venture. Just to answer eggsovereasywithteandtoast. In Europe its difficult to sell used cycles.You actually have to pay to remove your cheap bike from your house should you want to get rid of it but what Fondriest does is to trade 2nd hand cycles in on new purchases. We were just fortunate to be at his place at the right time and therefore made a deal and got all the 2nd hand bikes. Believe me should we get enough sponsors then I can bring in at least another 600 bikes. These are all normal bikes and not "pro bikes" Some of you might remember that I did something similar about 10 years ago with bikes from Germany but then we got the containers sponsored by Safmarine.

Thanks everybody for the calls and support on the hub. I just got back from 2 farm schools in Durbanville who is so excited when I told them that we would like to donate cycles to them. Those of you that live around here will know where they are. 1.Vissershok Primary school. They are at the 4 way stop [ Contermanskloof and Vissershok Road } We are going to give them 15 bikes for ages 6 to 13 years old. 2. Attie van Wyk Primary school on the Wellington road outside Durbanville. Also 15 bikes and the ages is 6 to 15 years. You can do the banking into the following account: Tygerberg Cycling Club Absa Bank Account : 914 250 7076 Please just send your name and address to me with the amount that you have deposit. Everyone that is making an donation will get a letter from the school to whom we will give your bike. PLEASE send Melanie or myself any ideas if you have.

We are going to the schools and chatting to the person in charge. Melanies Idea is that they must do a project such as cleaning the school area and surroundings or anything that the teachers comes up with as long as they do not get it for nothing. If 20 kids take part in the project and we only have 10 bikes then they can do a draw. I will keep you guys up to date which schools are getting bikes and we will also place photos of the children with the bikes. CBRUNSDON thank you. Your R 100 will help as well. We will give the Tygerberg Cycling clubs banking details soon just have to clear it .

Maurizio Fondriest , former world road cycling champion has donated 270 used cycles to the Chris Willemse group for distributing to the unprivileged and poor communities. Melanie Willemse, my daughter and myself visit the factory of Fondriest during November last year and Melanie were very impressed what he is doing for charity. We told them about our Christmas charity that we were busy organizing in Ruyterwacht last December [most of you helped a lot making it a success ] and Fondriest asked us to send him some more info and pictures once we done it. Melanie chatted to his PA and asked her if they cant help her with some 2nd hand bikes that she would like to distribute to school children especially those on farms that have to walk so far to school. They said that they will look into it and get back to her as soon as possible. Then the big thing came from his side: We at Fondriest cycles would like to donate 270 used cycles to help you with you plan to get more children on cycles. The only thing was that Melanie have to pay for the containers. We done a deal with a shipping company and got a nice special on a 40" container. The cost would be around R 27 000 with all landing and transport arrangements. Melanie got her 2nd hand import permit yesterday and the cycles is on its way to Cape Town. These bikes are normal cycles ranging from a 12" cycle to a 26" [ full size ]. The way she is planning to distribute it is that if any one of you have a school in mind that you would recommend then you are more than welcome to contact Melanie on marketing@cwcycles.co.za. Should you want to help her with the cost then you can "BUY" 5 cycles at R 500 or 10 for R 1000 and nominate to which school these bikes must go to. The ist 270 will only be for the Western Cape area due to lack of distributing funds. This is 1 of her charity project for 2011. Thanks Maurizio Fondriest and his team for helping getting more children on cycles. I can assure you all that should this be successful then Melanie will bring more 2nd hand cycles to SA.

Yes we do have some wholesalers trying to get rid of us but it is not going to be so easy. As long as we do it as the government have it in the constitution then we are in the save side. We made a promise to the cyclist that we will do our best to bring to them the best prices on cycling goods, good backup and after sale service. that is exactly what we done and this is only the beginning.
