  1. I recon the question is: how fast do you want to do the race? If you just want to finish and don't mind suffering then you can probably do it
  2. ok a bit late but my latest purchase was one of these at the end of December http://www.blusmooth.com/mk1-open-water-wetsuit.aspx
  3. true. I try and turn with my head in the water and I also try not to push hard off the wall. I rather turn and start to swim straight away.
  4. agree. I've never done a 70.3 but I would also aim to just finish the swim comfortably without using too much energy and then aim to cycle and run well.
  5. should be aiming to get the swim down to around 16min for 800m. Won't be difficult if you your swim stroke correct and just put some training in
  6. at 2.39/100 that's 26min for 800m
  7. should definitely be enough time if you start training soon
  8. was at the canal this morning and it wasn't too bad with a suit
  9. why don't you do one of the atc swims at the canals on a Friday morning and it'll give some idea of how cold it currently is
  10. right now the water is icy cold. Unless you know you can handle it I'd suggest a suit
  11. very nice. would be too scared to ride that tough
  12. is there a wine glass in the picture?
  13. try organise a buckie and collect yourself perhaps
  14. stanler farm out in fiesantekraal +27 21 9751724 300 for cubic meter I think
  15. have no personal experience as I've never done either but I guess the only way to find out if you can is to start increasing your training. I saw something somewhere that said you need to be able to do almost the full distance of each event in one weeks training or something like that. And build up to doing brick sessions in one day. So why don't you do a full swim one day, do the cycle the next day and the run the day after. See how you feel after the 3 days and that'll give you an idea of how far you've got to go in your training
  16. I really want one of those......
  17. That is one sweet ride, and looks my size. Hey Richard, if you ever want to give it away you can always find me here
  18. not as fancy as Pants Boys work but the desk is now in
  19. we are seriously spoilt for choices. I guess the average person CHUME will have to pick one or two, maybe 3 for a year and save hard to do them
  20. don't mind that. Toughened glass will just be too expensive at the moment and Perspex will be safer with the little kids around
  21. not the best picture but finished a desk for the study. Going to secure it to the wall on the left side and going to put a piece of Perspex on top to give a smooth surface to work on
  22. nothing a few cable ties and duct tape can't sort out
  23. Atlantic triathlon club are based in cape town I think https://www.atcmultisport.club/
  24. doesn't look like there's much to restore, looks pretty good
  25. I got a guy to come around last night to quote on putting a wall up in front of our place. I've sent him the design of what we want and now I'm waiting for a quote. What should I be preparing myself for? It's a 20m wall combination of brick pillars with the steel in between.
