  1. So I'm thinking of buying a super auto for the girlfriend to keep at her house. Not a nespresso. Any suggestions guys? I'd be willing to spend like 4k.
  2. That is true, My favorite place in CT in Rosetta in woodstock. Pity I don;t live there though.
  3. Haven't tried them. I may in the future though.
  4. There seems to be this mentality that as soon as a motorist sees a cyclist they immediately think "I need to pass ASAP". It's like cyclist = pass. Even when I'm going about 60km/h people STILL feel the need to pass. I notice this every day when I train in my area. I thought it was the JHB "rush" mentality but it seems it's not restricted to JHB>
  5. Nope. Those contract type things scare me. Like Roast Republic too.
  6. Cool, Well lets just say everyone PM me their order by 3pm and then I'll order and you guys can EFT it back to me? So we can get it next week sometime. Edit: Be very specific so that I don't order the wrong thing.
  7. Yeah, perhaps. But consistency is key. One bad batch and you won't see me again. On a student budget it's too risky to waste money on empty promises. I've found they talk the talk but never deliver the goods. The service is brilliant, it's a pity that that's not what I'm there for. They have like a million different beans you can buy, from single origins to blends to their own blends. I wish they would choose like 3 beans and focus their energy on that specifically.
  8. Cool, Just confirming Freshness.
  9. The guys from Cape Coffee Beans have offered free shipping if I order from them. Would anyone like to do a bundle? V12? http://capecoffeebeans.co.za/?gclid=CPLyjNDnkb0CFSMYwwodykoAVQ
  10. I've had many a bad experience there. Just a bit of a lack in quality. So I avoid them now.
  11. Edenvale And Aukland Park.
  12. It's a bit more expensive and they aren't offering the Yirgacheffe I want. Don't you also think it will be fresher straight from the roaster?
  13. Is anyone in JHB willing to get some beans from Rosetta Roastery in Cape Town? If we order 5kg or more shipping is free. Had some when I was down there.. It was GREAT!!! http://www.rosettaroastery.com/coffees.html
  14. It's great. I've found that it's as good as you are. You'll have to be seriously good for it to limit you in any way.
  15. People don't understand how offensive that is.. Was it not good enough in the first place??
  16. My philosophy too.. Guests getting a double?? Unheard of!! Half of them will think it's too strong anyway.
  17. I have a method. If I'm not happy with the shot it automatically becomes a cappuccino, If it was good enough - it's an espresso. (When brewing for myself)
  18. I think it's much of a muchness. There are so many factors that would contribute to what your end temp will be. Cup, Shot, etc. I've never tried that either. Maybe I should. I've seen guys texture a lot of milk and then portion into smaller jugs and pour each cup with a new portion. Haha. That is true. If they aren't paying they can't really complain. I guve my guest the fancy looking one and drink the average looking one.
  19. I think the milk is supposed to be 60deg C, air should stop being introduced at 40deg. I guess after a while you'll just know instinctively when to do what. My biggest issue at the moment is getting them even when I make 2. I don't want to steam milk twice you know. There must be a technique.
  20. I got a thermometer becuase all my guests were complaining that it wasn't hot enough. Then i actually found it is a good tool to judge when to stop introducing the air and when to submerge the wand and conctrate on the spinning. Now I have a feel for it I dont use the thermometer as often and am getter a better consistency - the wet paint type milk.
