  1. Thanks Birdie. At the moment the current pack is 114gms heavier than the Apidura but the lighter fabric I have in mind is more than acceptable resulting in a comparable weight. As you know with these bags, they have to be packed accordingly and there is no way you can scramble around in them to a certain degree. They are minimalistic bags which carry the essentials and not lots of gear - 11 liters. But you are very much aware of this. As you say, a back pack would be better suited? The idea is to use this bag to help get weight off your back - I am sure you will concur? Or am I missing the point?
  2. All yours mate.
  3. Nope, Durban.
  4. Pro Bike MTB shoes in excellent condition. Size 47. No cleats.
  5. K1 canoe up for grabs. Not sure of the model but the deck is flat. Seat included. Yours for collection.
  6. Ryan, I would go with the top pic.
  7. Hi Freak It would be no problem to make that size. According to my calculations it will be 6cm longer? Colour wise- any colour you like if a lower grade fabric is used. In the pics, the red is the only colour variability areas available at this stage using the heavier but stronger fabric. Waiting for tests to be carried out and final variations in colour and price can be done. At the moment, it seems a pretty good piece of kit. One change so far is the angle of the fixings trap. You can see from the pic it is not quite straight? The fixing strap around the seatpost may be changed to normal 50mm webbing with HD Velcro? Should I decide to sell these bags, I will need to know they have been thoroughly tested and workable.
  8. At the moment it came out at R300? Easy to extend the body and the price may change due to fabric choice, What size did you have in mind?
  9. Your bag is ready. Where could I drop it off?
  10. Was directed at CroMo. I suspect you guys from up north have succumbed to seemingly fit goodies in the seat tube.....You are snake category and I could never keep up.
  11. When are we going to go on a trip at our pace?
  12. At the moment don't think frame bags are on the agenda.....Mainly because my bike cannot take a frame bag so will be unable to test. If you have one I could copy then maybe so but without testing?
  13. More pics. If I could make a suggestion. Putting a cut off piece of tube around the seatpost seems to hold the bag in position even better, not that it bounces around as it is. Also protects the seatpost.
  14. Received the bags back from the manufacturer. I think I overdid the fabric because it is too strong?(Ripstop) Weight and cost could be dropped if a lighter fabric is used? Did not compromise on the straps though. 11ltrs (same as the Apidura Compact) Reinforced stitching and double up on wear points. Now to test it.
  15. This is what I am aiming for.
  16. Very good of you. Would prefer the bag to be up to standard though. When do you want a bag? Could get them to double up on production after corrections but that does mean untested" Would very much prefer to take a sample for a preliminary test first.
  17. Just an update on the saddle bags.......Got the first one back from the factory last week. I am not too happy with it in its present state and they will do the changes for me this week. Mostly, it requires stronger straps and double stitching with double fabric where it rests on the seat post. All in all it looks promising and will weigh and post pics when I am satisfied. Not much heavier than the Apidura at this stage.
  18. Fixed
  19. Too big IMHO. Max 20l should be sufficient including water?
  20. Off shore Master, prior to the invention of GPS. I am unable to understand, how to work the new fangled GPS/computer thing a my bobs. Calculators were not allowed in my time.
  21. Not rumours I tell you! @Ryan, I have the first prototype based on the Apidura coming off line tomorrow. In your travels, I would appreciate it if you are able to give it a good thorough testing prior to making changes and producing more? I will run it by CroMo prior to dispatching it off to you. Your suggestions and advice in this regard will be appreciated.
  22. Think so? I have my sea going ticket and passed my Nav exam at Granger Bay. Still can't read the GPS correctly. *** teacher or student, maybe both. Sometimes I might as well not have it. There you are then........
  23. I will help! I hate scammers.
  24. Damn, this is annoying. Chance to get a scammer and it has been left for dead.
